I'm desperate for some ideas for the bottom of my garden. I have three 6ft + concrete block walls bordering the bottom of my garden with a concrete floor for parking on (parking area approx 20ft x 12ft). I need to cover these walls because it looks far too industrial at the moment especially as the rest of the garden is green and lush. I don't have a great deal of money to spend on this area but and advice / tips would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for a UK company that can produce a custom made stain glass window. I'm hoping to put a large pieces of stain glass in a partitioned wall between my conservatory and kitchen. Any ideas or alternative suggestions.
I spent the whole weekend removing artex from my bathroom walls. I scraped off all the rough uneven artex (with a wallpaper scraper) then sanded the walls and put a coat of finishing plaster on it. I then used an all purpose wall primer followed by a coat of paint. It looks fab and well worth the hard work, money and time. Alternatively you can use a wallpaper steamer.
It might be worth reading the instructions on the little pots of glass paint. Maybe they'll also work on mirror. You can find these paints in most DIY stores. Alternatively you could use etching spray but this can be tricky and you have to take care when covering the area you don't want etched.
I have tried B&Q but unfortunately they only have two types.
I've seriously considering the photographic water tiles. Thankfully it's not a huge area to cover so it shouldn't be too expensive. I just hope they'll look great down.
I want to purchase some peeble (mosaic) floor tiles. Any idea where I can get them from? I've tried places like tiles 'r' us but their selection seems to be limited.
I'm considering putting mosaic tiles on the inside of my shower enclosure however a plumber recommended using marine board (ply?). Has anybody used this and if so what do you think about it? Which gives a nicer finish - the mosaic tiles of the marine board?
Anybody know the best way to completely get rid of border glue. I've managed to pull the border and backing off BUT there's still a glue residue on the wall. If I paint over this gluey area it doesn't retain the paint well and can look bumpy. Help!
I've previously bought some from B&Q, if you look in their 'kitchen accessories' area i'm sure you'll find them there (they normally come in a pack of 6). Alternatively you could try MFI.
The walls in my bathroom are covered with a rough artex like finish. What's the best, easiest and cheapest way to transform the walls into smooth, flat walls?
