Having been out to our local tonight and had the usual gamon, pineapple and egg with chips and salad, I was surprised to find purple glass in the salad along with the red cabbage. The new chef/cook reckons it was crystalised egg shell or even the albumen itself!! I've worked in catering over the past 30 years and never heard of such a thing. Has anyone else? Or was it a red herring to shut me up. I'm not the sort to cause a fuss, but if I've been fobbed off I shall talk to the manager when she's back on duty and tell her that a refund of £6.95 was an insult after being insulted be her new cook/chef. Am I being petty?
