>Bring back full uktv history schedule
I have just come back into the country after a long break away and was surprised when I sat down, jet lagged, to watch UKTV history (the only xxxx thing apart from the news worth watching in the evening) only to find it ceases broadcasting in the evening????? Why????
Yet again, TV deteriorates. I can watch Big Brother on 10 million channels at any time of the day but things worth watching that don't destroy my ability to function as a human being (like UKTV history) are cut from viewing schedules.
Bring back the full schedule. There is nothing ELSE on the channel apart from "UKTV history starts at 6am"!! Fill the space with something useful. . . . .please.
I can only repeat Niall's comments above. Why is it that interesting educational programmes are dominated by trivia? (Having said that, even the "UKtv HISTORY starts at 6am" card is more enlightening than most mind-opiate TV)
Bring back our full programme timings. Please?
Please bring back the full schedule of UKTV History. I really, really miss it in the evenings when usually there is nothing else worth watching. What is the use of freeview when there is not much to watch - most programmes are rubbish.
fisles

The decision to drop UKTV History after 6pm on Freeview was a commercial one, as it was felt that the newly-launched Dave would get more viewers at that time than UKTV History. The channel also changed muxes at the same time, and the one it has now is shared with Virgin One (UKTV History previously broadcast on a full-time mux, which was reallocated to Dave).
AFAIK, there are no plans to restore the evening schedule to Freeview.
Sorry!
If you wo'nt or ca'nt bring back the full schedule of UKTV History on freeview, why not start @ 10 am until 10 pm,you may get more advertising revenue then.
I have just read the various issues raised by your (former?) viewers on the subject of the current UKTV History schedule, and totally agree with all of the sentiments posted. As I dare say, many of your viewers may be retired, and therefore, have no problem with this arrangement, as for myself and as it appears many of your fomer viewers, we DO work during the hours (7.45am to 5.30pm) of daylight, so if I am lucky, I can catch the last 15 minutes of my previously favourite Freeview channel (this also does include a ad. break). Please get a grip and reinstate your former schedule to its former glory!.

As stated by one of the previous posters, not everyone wants mindless entertainment in the evenings on Freeview.
Some of us actually like to be not only entertained, but informed by decent factual and related fictional series that pertain to history.
It seems a retrograde step to remove the option to view on Freeview after 6pm, especially when the teaching of 'History' at schools is currently under fire due to both the lack of time on the syllabus, and the lack of depth able to be given to the subject due to timetable conflicts.
Please give a thought to not only comercial decisions, but to educational ones too.
Thank you
Oh yes, and a further irritant, why do the crop of TV Guides in papers and magazines STILL show the timetable as running from 7am to 1am daily on Freeview ??
I can't watch UKTVHistory anymore as it's not on anymore..... Why so many brain dead channels with guns and swearing to attract morons? Give us some wholesome telly like UKTVDocumentary before the whole country goes down the pan.
Did'nt you know!!!
The country IS down the pan. As the people's entertainment is swearing, drinking, fornication, adultery, murder etc...
they become the beasts of the nation.
Sin is a reproach to any nation.
Alas..how Britain has fallen, fallen.
I have just accessed Freeview for the first time this week, having taken the plunge and installed a new TV aerial. One of the reasons was that both my husband and daughter enjoy the documentaries on UKTV History. I checked the schedules and settled down to watch the first evening, only to find it had gone off air at 6pm! What a disappointment. PLEASE reconsider this change and forfeit one of the other evening channels instead. We need more of this type of program in the evening, not less.
I would like to send an appeal to save me and fellow students who are at serious risk of actually getting dumber during our time at university. My only salvation is sitting down to UKTV History to give my underworked, alcohol depleted brain cells a chance - and now I find myself unable to do even that!
Save me - bring back UKTV History after 6!!!
Just don't pig out on burgers....mcd...now that could mean mickydees, or mad cow disease.
The sad thing is that no one will take notice of your appeals - given the bases you are appealing on.
If you do not have more than your voice and desires to argue with, then you will not get far within what is misleadingly called "free" exchange conditions - and where bargaining power is within the hands of those who have massive amount of that "means of exchange" - who can use money to get results.
The results of what is called "democracy" and elections, and all else, lies within the few hands of those with the controlling medium.
Minds themselves are now just products of money.
The LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
Biblical exprssion.

The loss of this absolutely fantastic channel in the evenings has been a bitter blow. There truly is not much else worth watching and as another correspondent wrote, we are not all hooked onto adultery, cruelty, etc. etc. Please reconsider the original schedule.
History Channel is what I watch,Why has it gone?To whom do we beg-there is no address,HELP.
just like to add my two pen'arth worth regarding the axing of uktv's evening service. i find it remarkable that the only thing worth paying a license fee for was the night time viewing on the history channel that has now been cut. why is it that this generation of tv managers just want to fill our heads with pap? it just goes to show i guess, what the producers of british television like to sit back and watch of an evening; moronic monosyllabic visual chewing gum. therefore begging the question, why are we employing uneducated morons to run our television services?
get shot of them and pay someone with at least one o'level to get the programing right. in short, not only should the free view history channel be reinstated in the evening but other similar programing considered for the largely intelligent section of the british public who simply arent interested in hard to believe dramas, game shows for the cerebrally dead or opinions of a self promoting jerk who reckons hes got some remote insight into what makes first class pop pap. does anyone with a brain really care?
in my view its an appalling state of affairs and needs remedying pronto.
I agree totally - BRING BACK UK HISTORY CHANNEL IN THE EVENING - PLEEEEAAASSSSEEEEEE.
I have yet to find a single listing on its "replacement" Dave , which I want to watch. I want my mind stimulated & don't wish to watch the mindless dross, which most channels offer.
I won't repeat all the comments above but suffice it to say that I can only agree with the opinions expressed. It would be great to know that when I get in from work & finally get a chance to relax I would have something worth watching.
