Royal Pavilion

Royal Pavilion

To its owner the Prince Regent it was the ultimate party house, to Queen Victoria it was no more than 'a strange looking thing'. Today, this Indian styled palace is a unique architectural landmark in Britain and was responsible for transforming the quiet fishing village of Brighton into one of the largest and most outrageous seaside towns in Britain.

The Pavilion is brilliant because it absolutely reflects the spirit of Brighton. I have visited it more times than I can remember since first being taken by my parents as a child, and now I take my own friends and family. For me, the Pavilion is inseperable from how I think about the city- it is our Pride and Joy!

Far, far better than any building we have visited in the world. Versailles is rubbish compared to this, even Buckingham Palace isn’t this good. St Petersburgh, Winter Gardens the treasure’s good but the building still isn’t as good as this.

We've all seen it many times on tv, and in print, but the reality of it will still take your breath away. The Banqueting Hall is a wonder to behold, and your senses will just go into overdrive when faced with the magnificence you're witnessing.

Everything about this place is great, one of the best attractions in Brighton by far, no contest...
The music room intrests me most and the tours are to die for, can't wait to go back!

The Royal Pavilion is the most stunning building I have seen. It mixes splendour and opulence into an extraordinary fantasy. I am in awe of the Banqueting Room, followed closely by the Music Room. Other rooms evoke emotions from startle to calm. The Royal Pavilion is the jewel in Brighton's crown and well worth a visit, without doubt!

Without the Royal Pavilion our city would not be the fun and vibrant place it is today. Aside from the fact that it is totally unique inside and out, beautiful, quirky and with a fascinating history, it is symbolic of our civic pride. The Royal Pavilion deserves to win this competition, so go on, vote!!
