Hi Scamp 1, dont worry, they (UKTV) are repeating because they upset so many loyal viewers back at the beginning of August.... have a look at the previous messages in this thread. New episodes starting again later this month, enjoy the repeats...! They are really good classic shows.

We had a little boy 8lbs 15 ozs, will we call him JR, BObby or Jock...? What ya' all think...?

Big Grin Big Grin Big Congratulations Chips!! Thats great news. I would be tempted to go with JR!! Seriously, John is one of those old solid names you can't go wrong with( I'm biased cos its my Da's name) Just so long as you steer clear of Mitch, Dusty, Digger, Cliff, Clayton and definately not CHRISTOPHER!!(If you watched the original series you'll understand) Please keep us posted!

AAARRRRGGGHHH! I've just read on Wikipedia that UKTV Gold only bought the rights to the first five seasons of Dallas and that after this series it'll be stopping. SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE! Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssssseeeeee get the other series. I remember Dallas as a child and am now enjoying it in my own right. Sob - I'm begging, please give us more! Cry

Thanks Joysey...! I laughed so much at your message, in the end we settled on Elijah because it looks like we will need his help with a miracle or two when it comes to dealing with UKTV especially since reading Jules message above....!

Isn't this exactly what we expected to happen from UKTV... No commitment and wait until the last minute to disappoint everybody again. Thanks for the information Jules, can you tell us how you came across it again, Wikipedia...?

I have got to say it again, Dallas is super entertainment and I cannot understand why the powers that be cannot see this clearly. I can now see why it's something I didnt notice before, some episodes are directed by Patrick Duffy and some are directed by Larry Hagman and then again other directors take charge in different episodes. Obviously this accounts for the variety in the subjects and how it is impossible to predict what will happen next and what makes the shows so good.

So is it now time to inundate uktv with requests for clarification or are we to sit and wait to be disappointed yet again...?

Can we garner a bit of support from our colleagues who have issues with other programmes...?

Hi All, a few years ago when I had ITV Digital (remember that one?!), I was watching Dallas on UKTV Gold then, and it went right up to the very last episode (which to me was the only disappointing episode of the whole programme!), so I can't see that the note on Wikipedia is correct. To all you Dallas Fans, if you are as desperate as me to ensure your fix, buy the DVD's off Amazon!! They have now released series 7. Good Luck "Dallas-ites", and keep watching - I am!

Hi All
I was really pleased that they brought back Dallas after the first time thay took it off air. I give up now..... what is the point of showing a series to get viewers and then taking it off the air, when they are hooked? This equals lost viewers, UKTV Gold doesn't take a lot to work it out....! I will not be watching UKTV Gold at all until they show the rest and complete run of Dallas. Angry

DAVID R FROM UKTV - This is for you and we know that you do answer the boards now and again!
You have answered before on this subject - I and everyone else is pleading with this question: Can UK TV please PLEEEASE buy the rights to more series of Dallas? I remember when it WAS indeed shown - in its entirity I believe - back in the late 1990's. I remember as my sister would record it and let me borrow the video tape, as I did not have digital or cable/sky tv to watch it. You had all the episodes then. You showed the one where Bobby got shot. You showed the one where Pam and Bobby get divorced. You showed the one where Sue Ellen drives her car when drunk with Mickey Trotter in it. You showed the one where April got shot. You showed the one where JR had a shotgun wedding to Cally. You showed the one where Miss Ellie got kidnapped by Jessica. I have watched these on YOUR TV station. They had a big following of viewers then. They have an even bigger one now. I emplore you (via David R of UKTV) to please buy the rest of the rights. You wont regret it. You just dont realise how many fans this show has and how many relive the good old days of this soap and love to go back and relive all those wonderful cliffhangers. I for one, am so eager to relive them.
PLEASE UK TV...Please dont take our Dallas away. Just look at the message boards. Check out Ultimate Dallas .com - which also has a hell of alot of messages imploring you to not remove this show, but to buy on and on.
You will not regret it, but rather will have FOR ONCE listened and answered YOUR viewers, YOUR salary payers (with little popularity and viewing audience - you would not really be on air as a station...would you not??).
I hope someone, DAVID R- UKTV GOLD???(help for us David??) - is listening.

It looks like Friday's episode is the last one - there is nothing in the schedules next week! There are some episodes on over the weekend but these are repeats of this week's stories. Looks like Friday is the last one.... Mad

Oh No, Are you messing. Friday is the last episode Angry Seriously UKTVGold, whats going on. get the rest of the episodes. Please Cry

Sorry not been on for a while. As you all realise the last episode is this Friday. I found the details out from Wikipedia, but it was by following the link to the Dallas Official Guide and looking at the Dallas News Blog. I note that no one has said anything on UKTV Gold. I'm absolutely furious as I have so enjoyed watching this iconic series. I mean, what on earth are they going to put in its place? Probably more repeats of The Vicar of Dibley or My Family - I agree they're great programmes but come on, fair's fair, what about those of us who diligently tune in or set our Sky+ to follow the lives and loves of our favourite Texans. It's an escape from the trials and tribulations of this, quite frankly, rotten world and now you've taken that away from us as well. I've got no reason to watch UKTV Gold any more - I won't make a single difference, but I hope someone's conscious, somewhere is pricked and they make a move to bring back what a lot of people want.

It will be interesting to see if they say anything at the end of Friday's episodes. Really frustrating - I was so enjoying this programme and now it looks like they are finishing it mid-way through.

Don't think UKTV are listening, I emailed David R several days ago and got no reply. I think its a disgrace, how can they only show a third of the series. My wife and I absolutley love the show and will sadly miss it. COME ON UKTV GET YOUR FINGER OUT AND SHOW THE REST !!
By the way here's a link to the official dallas fan club, has some very interesting items and interviews with the stars. Also a link to the Larry Hagman website.

I'm so disappointed. Why have UKTV Gold done this? Got me hooked and then stopped Dallas with no explanation! Confused There are so many repeats shown on this channel. What harm would it do to keep some diehard Dallas fans happy? Why start showing it at all if you're going to stop after the fifth series. I've e-mailed UKTV but haven't had a reply.

Will someone from UKTV tell us why they've decided to stop showing Dallas? It's better than anything else that's on TV right now.

I am so gutted- that Dallas has finished- I really love it and have done in the 80ies when I watched it then.
I think it's pretty poor that UKTV have not replied to the people on this site, especially as it's people like you and me that pay their wage- when they show adverts aimed at the audience and without that there would not be a UKTV.

I really hope they bring back a new series very soon. I hope UKTV take note of all of us.

Oh my! I was watching last Friday's show without even realizing that it would be the last show I could watch on UKTV Gold! And I always hate Mondays, but I was thinking that at least I can see how things are developing with our favourite family. Grrrr!! Now I never find out how JR will react if he finds out that he don't get all his voting shares after all like he thought he had. He was so rude to miss Elly! He needs to be set straight, and now I can't see it. I'm so annoyed! I wish Sheila's Wheels would be reading along, and demand UKTV Gold to continue the show, since we all signed up for their cheap car insurance while watching Dallas. I don't mind the price of my car insurance to go up a little, if that means I can continue watching Dallas. Grrrr!!!!

I see now that somebody elses message have been deleted too... where is the message about blockbusters gone.... What on earth is going on here....?

Are people aware this site seems to be censored... Is anybody willing to network on a separate link one that is uncensored by UKTV...?

I would like to know more about this blockbuster option and absolutely disgusted with the way we are being treated. If there is an option, personally I would like to take it. This is the second time in quick succession UKTV have done this and I think it's quite dispicable. We are being treated with utter contempt.

I have taken a copy of this message and willing to continue posting it with more stuff if it's deleted again.

And I will bet they think this is funny.... Angry UKTV by deleting messages you are only bringing out the badness in people, please stop doing that.

I've just looked at the Dallas part of UKTV Gold's website and there's a thing on there saying the next time it's being shown is 07:15 Sunday 21 October. Is that just going to be repeats of the first five series? I mean, it's so fantastic it's always worth watching, but how can UKTV Gold not read these messageboards and realise that there are loads of us that adore this fabulous show? UKTV Gold must have got themselves hundreds of new fans by showing Dallas and now they're going to lose them all again.

Hi
I am new to this messageboard aswell, I think Dallas has been postponed due to school holidays in some areas next week. I emailed a complaint to UKTV Gold and have not received a reply either. If it has been replaced by Dr Who for the children's holidays, I think it's a damm cheek. Angry

Mon 15 Oct 2007, 9.22AM

Emer1

I hate Dr. Who Angry Angry
Please finish showing Dallas At lease respond to your viewers and let us know whats happening - UKTV must be monitoring this if they have been removing posts so the least they could do is respond to us.
I never saw Dallas first time round and its the only thing on TV these days thats worth watching.

Why has my message not appeared on here? The one voicing my disgust and dismay at this series being ended in such a way?
Still - try again - I was under the impression that UKTV had purchased the series until 'Bobby comes out of the shower'?
Anyways out of sheer desperation - my sister is currently on holiday in the states, so i called her and asked her to get into the nearest Virgin megastore and get me the remaining series (s) on dvd - she has done - hurrah!
