Hi All,
Can someone please confirm that I have read this right that there is somewhere on this webpage, where it says Dallas will be picking up where it left off? So in fact I haven't missed anything until I patiently wait for September!!!
If someone could please tell me if this is true!!

Yes Sally they have given that impression both in the thread and on the TV apparently. BUT we should not believe them, they have little or no credibility when it comes to being honest with their viewers, they are more interested in how they can find a way to dissappoint us.

So we will really have to wait until September to see if they re show the episodes shown over the weekends, if at least they would let us know for sure it might go some way to appease those who are currently feeling the upset. Don't worry though it will be more ammunition for us if they renage and don't be surprised if it is the case, in other words, don't expect to see them in September, best advice is to try and get somebody to record them for you if you can't see them on the weekend.

Hi folks, I'm still seething and still very much missing Dallas. So sad am I that I went on Youtube looking for the Dallas opening sequence!! Its there with a wealth of other Dallas moments. This is no solution to our plight but lightened and brightened my day! Check out the Sue Ellen Drunk video, not great quality but it made me laugh.

Hello all,
Its been a while since I was on here but I am so glad to see the viewers getting militant! It’s about time that this poor excuse for a channel sat up and listened to what many of us have been saying for about 3 years now. UKGold has no respect for its viewers all it wants to do is show minimum programmes and get us to pay money to text into those stupid votes, I watched Only Fools on Tuesday and then on Wednesday I was flicking through at the same only to see the same episode on what’s that about? It was on yesterday for gods sake do you really think we have the attention span of a goldfish and can’t remember what happened yesterday?
Don’t even get me started on Dallas, it’s the only good bit of programming in years and then they replace it with Dr Who that is on BBC1 & BBC3 at the same time! Morons the lot of them, and why is Tribe on surely that is better suited to UKDocumentary?
Grrrr so angry!

Howdy y'all. Ouch Chippy! That's a bit harsh! Although I can see how - after we told you that Dallas was taking a break during August - that it was understandably confusing when it was on at the weekends AND with new episodes. To try and make amends, I've outlined the Dallas schedule for August and September here: [link]

Basically, Dallas is taking a break from weekdays during August, but will resume at 11am and 5pm from Monday 3rd Sept. The last weekday episode (before it went on hold) was on Friday 3rd August (Ep 73 The Gathering Storm.) On Monday 3rd Sept, we’ll be picking up with Ep 74 Ewing vs Ewing and onwards as normal. So rest assured, if you've been following the storyline on weekdays and wish to pick it up again in Sept, you won't have missed anything.

We've also been continuing the storyline at weekends during August from ep 74 onwards, but this won't affect the storyline continuing weekdays in September from where we left off on Fri 3rd August.

Hope that makes (some kinda) sense!

Harsh...? Emm I don't think so. You dont seem to have any idea how much you are responsible for disappointing people as much as you have and for what its worth it is good to see that at least you will be continuing where you left off.

BUT.

For how long....?

How far do you propose to carry on the series and will it only be 11 and 5 or will there be odd shows early in the morning as some viewers have been upset about...? Please do not simply address the few Dallas fans but take on the whole picture. How much can we depend on UKTV for consistency....? If people are wondering why this quick response, my email is set to receive the latest posting. This is not just a matter of Dallas but it's really a matter of principle. We pay our dues, how harsh is that...?

Will you now answer us without running off again, we are listening intently. How consistent will you be in showing future episodes and series, we would seriously like to know.

We have just taken a look at that link and to be very honest, it looks good especially for us personally as the month of September will be taken up with our newborn priority so there will be no disturbances for us on Saturdays or Sundays until then. Phones will be off, computers will be shut down, front and back doors locked.... until September as No doubt we will miss most episodes in September. (but we will still be watching...!)

Ok personally we are happy for the moment and I really hope everybody else is too. FOR THE MOMENT..! We still need to know about how consistent UKTV can promise us they will be for the future particularly for us Dallas fans but let's not forget our "Casualty" and "The Bill" friends, we will all need to keep together in the future and I am really serious about this so hopefully we can all stay in contact on this or a similar thread....

Mr. R. UKTV can we depend on your future support and let us know what is happening.... before we switch on just to be disappointed...?

I still don't understand why it was stopped in the first place I do not want to watch repeats of Doctor Who again and I would not describe it as a comedy. Please do not take Dallas off the air again for a 'comedy break' as its described.

Wow a response from the powers that be!!

Well David R, how about the same for The Bill/Holby/Casualty. We know from a different thread (not from yourselves) when they are returning but will they be:

a. Shown in sequence
b. Not cut off mid series
c. Any changes to be communicated to the viewers

Until we have answers to this I will still not be tuning into Gold (maybe this should be Tin) Angry Angry Angry

Hi everybody, I don't wish to be a pain in the backside but there doesn't seem to much reaction to UKTV's eventual announcement.... if we remain silent chances are the same thing will happen again. Is there anybody still interested to try and get a definitive reply from UKTV about future showings...? I admit some of my responses may have been a little OTT but hey thats what happens when people are bitterly disappointed, isn't it important to voice your feelings....?

Anyway it was a great weekend of viewing on Dallas, we were spoilt and managed to get all 5 episodes in and what enlightenment... At last classic episodes.......! These are all storylines I missed in the early 80's. After almost 25 years finally now it’s possible to see how Miss Ellie met Clayton, the history of Southern Cross Ranch is more clear, the introduction of Sly and (sad to see that poor oul Jock is slowly slipping away from coming back... in real life at the time he was having Kimo therapy for his cancer), sadly it is clear he is being slowly written out of the story by Ms Ellie being back from the second honeymoon, without Jock, how young Christopher was introduced and Pam attempting to commit suicide….! If you havent seen it yet, highly recommended to watch it all in September.

Some of you might be interested that with a little research on Howard Keel (Clayton) who you might recall from movies like "Carousel", "Calamity Jane", "Show Boat" and "Annie get ur Gun" it is particularly nostalgic to hear that he only passed away in late 2004 and Dallas was his only real success in his acting career due to personal circumstances. I was very saddened to see that considering those movies are such classics....

I have to say it is honestly great to have this show back on the air even if it is showing at a bad time at the moment. It's a pity we almost lost it but I do hope the plans are to continue showing it through to the end.

UKTV are you still watching or is it not so important to you... Is it possible to get a full update ...?

Another five superb Dallas episodes, clearly demonstrating why it has to be the BEST soap opera and quality tv viewing not to be missed from September but where is everybody...! If we go silent now, don't be surprised if the same haphazard things start to happen in the future as with the other programmes. Just take a look at the other threads in the message board link above... practically everybody has some form of complaint or other and it's no surprise seeing as people complain but then fall short when it comes to doing something about it. UKTV need to confirm their commitment to their viewers the same way viewers commit to paying for tv services.

Thread comments seem to have declined over the past week or two, UKTV I wonder if viewing has dropped too.....

What's the story, will we have Dallas until all of the complete series have been shown to the very end...? Look what it might do for your ratings....

I like all above am a great fan of the re runs of Dallas and I am pleased that I now know it is coming back... but.. why is it (if I am correct) that we have to sit through until 24th Sept to carry on where we left off? The last episode was series 4 ep88, custody of John Ross, to Sue Ellen (or have I missed something) and the one that follows that is being shown on 24th, not 3rd Sept?? Any reason? Not going to rant too much as I may be wrong, and I am glad that its back, but why repeat the last 2 weeks, or so before we get back to where we were left hanging! Big Grin

Obviously,I'm glad Dallas will be back to its weekday slot on Monday. Sadly UKTV Gold paid little attention to the views and concerns of their viewers. I got the impression they thought it was a bit of a laugh. It would be great to be in a position where you could really affect their statistics and hit them where it hurt. Unfortunately thats not the case. They showed very poor form. We never recieved adequate explanation or information and then it was only when they were pushed by the volume of complaints. I always feel the reason for a shoddy service tends to be inept, ineffective management. I just hope we don't get a few weeks down the line to find they have pulled another fast one.

Well said Joycey et all, they have done it once they will do it again and I am completely at a loss to understand why they will not take any heed to our concerns. This might be a silly anallagy but if you buy a loaf of bread and it's not fresh on the inside you take it back because there is something wrong with it, get a new one after you complain and the shop manager will explain to you how it will not happen again so that he keeps your business. UKTV don't seem to recognise this principle or believe they don't have to recognise it. Maybe we need better exposure for bringing attention to the issue other than this thread. I wonder if they actually read this thread even though they started it...? but one thing is for certain, they will surely parlay with us at some stage. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Come on UKTV lets chat, what are you afraid of, promise to be easy on you if you take onboard and listen to our concerns..... Smile

Love you fans. Thought I was going mad. There are others who still can see what I see . Sheer brilliance. Just so completely mad about Dallas. I remember alot from Sue Ellen affair with Peter when I was young and I have seen the re runs before on uk gold. But I can't believe that after seeing it yet again I'm enjoyng it so much. The best soap ever made, ever.
There must be thousands of us out there. As for the break you quite inconvieniently gave us, Uk Gold you just need to be a bit more considerate with your programming. If there was a problem you should have informed us before the last episode and after it. We would have understood. You just dismissed us like we were'nt even watching Dallas. Are you kidding. We're out there in droves, we make your ratings . Don't upset the Dallas fans.
By the way Sue Ellens custody win was the last episode aired, yes?
Last but not least, dispite the 'break', thanks for the Dallas re-runs, they're the tv highlight of my day. Don't stop.

Hopefully there are not too many people like Kacie who are upset that we have to watch the weekend shows again during September but if you get a chance to read the early messages in the tthreads Kacie you should see how people were so upset at the sudden departure from our TV screens without any notice that it seems UKTV can in fact partially listen to its viewers and they have given the people most bitterly disappointed an opportunity to see the episodes they missed. My partner and I are some of the lucky ones who managed to catch them all in August and our circumstances in September mean we will probably miss most of the shows but it's still good to know that people who missed all of August wil get a chance to see them all again. Added to that, they are some of the most classic shows, I would have no problem sitting down to watch them again if I can...

But we still need to hear some form of commitment from UKTV for the future, how long will it be until our next disappointment, it is difficult to have any confidence from what we can see from most UKTV viewers comments especially in this thread but also in some of the other threads on the site also.

Maybe David R has gone on holiday again... Frown

I get really annoyed by the timings as I work, so when it was repeated at 7pm originally, I could get home from work, settle myself, and enjoy. Now it's not repeated then, but at 6pm, I miss the beginning. I've tried taping it, but have had a couple of disasters. It seems to me that telly companies only seem to cater for the unemployed, as it is on at 11 and 12, then 5 and 6, when any one who works would acually be at work.
Come on UK Gold, some of us have got jobs, we're not all layabouts, think about us too.

Still no reassurances from UKTV!!

Miss Marble - I find your latter comments extremely offensive and insensitive. Having worked solidly for 20 years I now find myself virtually housebound due to severe illness. I can assure that that not all daytime viewers are 'layabouts'.

My Husband and I were loving watching Dallas, we were too young to watch the early episodes first time around and only started watching it when John Ross was about 6, so it has been great to see the classic 'who shot JR?' episodes etc. However I must register my annoyance and disgust at the shameful treatment UK TV Gold has given Dallas by repeatedly changing the times and days when it is shown. I don't know who is more confused me or my Sky+ box and at the moment still haven't got a clue when I should be watching it again as you now seem to be repeating episodes that you have already shown. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stop mucking it about and give your viewers the chance to watch it, or I'm sure that I won't be the only one who will give up on it completely.

Hi I am new to this site so I hope somebody may be able to help.

I have to say I have really enjoyed the classic soap Dallas, which I also enjoyed when it first came on TV in the 80ies.
However the last one I saw around the end of Aug, was Cliff Barnes in the office with JR, expressing his delight that He and a few other people ( mainly people that upset JR in the past) had bought out JR's debt. JR had bought mostly all the oil, by borrowing alot of money against the company, to get back at Dusty and Clayton Farlow for helping Sue Ellen.
My question is - Dallas that is on now daily, but seems to be all repeated. Does anybody know if there will be a follow to that episode I described.

So sorry for going on & boring eveybody, but I was really enjoying it.

Like the previous lady above it does become very confusing.

Many thanks
