I'm still here and still angry..... David R, what can we do to get this changed?
We are going insane without Dallas... xxx

Wed 8 Aug 2007, 8.56PM
Ok David maybe you want to stretch this out until September and hopefully we will go away until then. Today I bought the very first series box set of Dallas so I can watch it whenever I feel like it ( I actually came across it accidentally at a knock down price... but I intend to search E Bay later for the other sets...). If I was going to upgrade to Sky plus before and record the episodes now I won't bother, buying the boxsets will save me a lot of hassle but watching it on a daily basis would be even less hassle again and the preferred choice. Dont bank on this little revolution taking pace because it is clear that is probably what your bosses would like, a little publicity. I do not think there are enough Dallas fans to make enough of a fuss but by UKTV disregarding the few who are upset enough to talk people out of buying a subscription to Sky or Sky plus, maybe that would catch on.... and at the moment, that is exactly all I feel like doing because you have decreased the value of our subscription to Sky. A contract is a contract. We pay you show. You said you would show the whole series.... why is it not on right now while we are still paying our dues...?

Hey you guys - just came back on to see if any repsonses....pleased to see I'm not the only one with withdrawal sympthoms. Here to support the rally to bring back.... but they will have no doubt now have a definitive programme now scheduled with substitute programmes. Would be interested to learn if viewing figures have dropped? Finding myself missing Bobby Ewing makes me wonder if my sanity has finally gone!
Fri 10 Aug 2007, 4.09PM
What?! Missing Bobby Ewing? I miss most watching beautiful Pamela being upset and stray, because her hard working husband is always gone. hehe
It's fun tough reading here that I'm not the only one missing the show. I never watched UKTV Gold before, but Dallas got me hooked! Hope I'll be able to catch up with the show in September, since I've a new job by then and are afraid that JR is playing his dirty tricks before I got home.
Since so many people seem to watch the show, maybe UKTV would be so kind to scedule the show on primetime in September, rather then those early afternoon hours...whew.
Thanks anyway UKTV for bringing back those old memory's, love it, and it's a great way to relax after a stressed day on the job. Please give us more of those old USA shows. Dukes of Hazzard! Loveboat! The Hulk! The Man of 5 million! Mc Cloud! Magnum! Would love to see those old episodes back.
I'll be back watching in September!

It's shocking that Dallas has been removed. We all loved to watch it at 6.00 on +1 and you promised to show the whole series. How can you build up viewer loyalty when you remove a programme without warning. Shame on you!!!!
Fri 10 Aug 2007, 9.17PM
I still feel they owe us a huge apology. We were promised the whole series and it was cut short without any warning or explanation!! Its fairly obvious they have no intention of reversing this decision and while I do kind of agree with chippy, we should not encourage any publicity which may benefit them, I am tempted to suggest we all write to Terry Wogan and spill the beans about UKTV Gold. He is, after all the best promoter Dallas ever had and may take or cause on board.... mind you I've had a couple of glasses of vino collapso!!
Sat 11 Aug 2007, 12.32AM
Just logging in late to get an update. Dont want to be disturbed for three hours in the morning..... ! I have a notification there are 3 new updates on the message board but I cant see them... Joycey has there been an update that I cant see...?
Sat 11 Aug 2007, 4.29PM
I'm not sure Chippy, I got two update notices yesterday, one was from smerlin. one from Lordspen and the only other posting was meself last night. Is that any help at all? It was great to see Dallas today but I'm still not a happy bunny!!!
Sun 12 Aug 2007, 7.36AM
ok...UKTV Gold...please tell us why is it you said Dallas would be back in September...but..I have woke up this morning and have seen 3 NEW episodes about to be aired??...so I +24 to next week end and on the Saturday further new episodes!!! Can't see next Sunday yet!! So....
1. why was this not advertised
2. when did u start this...ie if it was last week end or yesterday then we have missed some!!!!
Please lets hear what you have to say as its possible we have watched Dallas for all those weeks and have now missed episodes!!
Sun 12 Aug 2007, 10.13AM
I too can't believe dallas has been so cruely snatched from us. The reason I don't usually watch channels like uktv gold on a regular basis is because the schedule's never to be consistant but I took the chance and was proved right as weekday Dallas has just disappeared! My daughter aged 2 is asking for Bobby & JR!! Ooops I've got her hooked too! I'm with you all please please please take the awful Doctor Who off and get the fantastic Dallas back in the week immediately.
Sun 12 Aug 2007, 10.46AM
OMG - I just seen more new episode on the planner for Dallas at 1am in the morning! - Has anyone had a response from contacting UKTV directly??
They don't seem to want to anwser our posts here - or have I missed something?
I bet they'd soon miss us if we boycott ALL their channels!!!
Sun 12 Aug 2007, 12.13PM
Ok now I'm peed off again. I had a great "fix" of Dallas yesterday morning even though it upset my usually restful sleepy lie in Saturday morning, and again this morning but I missed the second last episode because of a phone call so I have no idea how JR got off with the charge of starting the revolution in Asia...! I think I can see it again at 1am in the morning but I cant be sure. Before this I wouldnt mind, it would be easy to catch up but because of the sudden change in UKTV's schedules this is now not possible.
I REALLY THINK WE HAVE BEEN ROBBED...!
UKTV, why are you not listening to the people you are trying to entertain...? It beggars belief that you have not bothered to offer an explanation but more importantly a solution to the situation...? It seems to me now there are more Dallas fans than I thought at first so maybe a thousand disgruntled fans multiplied by 10 others that they will moan to, not just about UKTV but about Sky as well, just might be enough to hit you where it hurts, your bottom line profits and poor sponsorship in the future.
Dallas fans, here is one way we can start to hit back. During the show there are opportunities to enter draws for laptops and tv's etc.... why don't we start to spread the news that this is a scam and just another way for UKTV to skim more cream off TV fans, premium texts make them a fortune... that is actually part of their problem I think, Dallas fans just watch the program, we are not interested in entering their money making tricks. The younger generation of fans will more than likely enter and that is probably the main reason for the change. School and college kids are off at the moment....
UKTV where are you and why are you not listening or responding....? Do you really not give a hoot for your viewers...?
We deserved more notice and a better alternative to the one you have taken, Saturdays and Sundays is NOT a fair compromise for your customers, all you are doing is managing to alienate those who would be happy to remain loyal if the loyalty is reciprocated...
We want our Dallas back on weekdays and not in just in September as too much will be missed by then, otherwise you will probably never hear the end of this and somebody is going to pay in the end AND IT WONT BE US...!
We want our Dallas back..!

Ok everyone, I was casually scrolling through some of the other threads and came across something interesting. "Casualty" fans and "The Bill" fans are experiencing similar stuff to the way we are being treated. This means that there is a management issue within UKTV and they seem to be making quite a lot of blunders.
What does this mean...? Even if we get this "little" problem sorted now, surely in a couple of months time something similar could happen.
Why don't we all join forces and get every disgruntled UKTV viewer together and make the management sit up and take account of what is going wrong, maybe they will appoint somebody with more competence and courage to address the situation rather than running for cover.
Come on UKTV where are you now when there are so many unhappy campers waiting for an answer...? What are you waiting for...?
If 100,000 subscribers decided to refuse payment of one months subscription to Sky as a penalty for breaching contract by not showing TV shows in a competent fashion that means 8 Million Euro in lost revenue for 1 month. How would Sky cope with taking 100,000 people to court to get the money back...?
Who is on for penalising Sky and forget about UKTV, they are utterly useless..!
Mon 13 Aug 2007, 10.50AM
Im distraught...!
Very dissapointed to find that Dallas was having a 'break' but mortified to find that the Sunday slot was still on and that I may have missed crucial episodes. Does anybody know if UKTV Gold will pick up where they left off (as advised on their website) when they go back to the 5pm slot in September - or will we have to watch the Sunday show in order to keep up? Come on UKTV Gold - we need to know...!
Mon 13 Aug 2007, 11.56AM
Hi
I have kept an eye on this thread with much interest. I work from home and always scheduled my hour for breakfast between 11am - 12pm everyday.
I was shocked to find Dallas removed from the daily schedule. Having heard it was coming back in September put my mind at rest. HOWEVER, last night, I noticed that they had aired a NEW episode at 1am. Now this is silly. Either cut the show FULLY until Septmeber so we can all start where you stopped or don't stop it at all. Showing new episodes at random times is ridiculous programming.
Please advise.

Hi everyone,
Will evereybody start to send in emails complaining to UKTV to the following address. They have just emailed me informing me to look forward to new showings of David Jason shows, which I like incidentally, however I informed them that until the situation regarding Dallas is sorted, I amd simply not interested...
Will anybody really concerned do likewise please...? Bombard them with complaints about everything that has been bothering you but havent bothered to say until now....
UKTV News [news@uktv.co.uk]
And that last posting is a very valid point. How many episodes will be missed by people who can't possibly sit down to watch it on the weekends...

Hi All,
I have been logging in regulary to see if there has been any apology, NO! I have been watching the gaps between what would have been Dallas time for an on air apology, NO! This is disgusting!!! And now I read that we are not going to be able to see Dallas at all unless we stay up til 1 am in the morning. I was under the impression it would start off in September where it left off? There has to be some advertising rule broken here, surely?
I can't believe it. I am so disappointed. I have to say as well that I don't think I will be watching UKTV GOLD again. Well done for losing another viewer GOLD, lets see what else you can do!??? Come on, put it back on for crying out loud!!!

The last episode I watched was on Friday 3rd August. The programme announcer said at the end of the show, "Dallas will be taking a break, and it will return in September". It maybe an over-reaction, but I felt as though I had been stabbed in the stomach.
My very good friend is also a Dallas fan. He very tentatively asked me last night, "Did you know Dallas was on at the weekend?" knowing full well, that I work every Saturday and rarely watch any TV at the weekend. He also missed the episodes that were shown, except for the last fifteen minutes of the last one. We think the Title of the last one we watched on Friday the 3rd was; The Gathering Storm. Can any of you guys tell me what I missed at the weekend. How many episodes were on and what were the Titles. Any help appreciated.
Tue 14 Aug 2007, 7.15PM
We only realised it was on Saturday by chance. The episodes i caught were when Sue Ellen met Clint's wife who wanted to let Sue Ellen carry on with her hubby as long as she could remain married to him. Sue Ellen ended that affair. Also Dusty came back ,and is able walk with crutches. Jock and Miss Ellie are back together and were on a second honeymoon. But the best bit is that Kristen is back and is blackmailing all about the baby! She plans to meet JR.

I flippin' well missed most of that! Caught the end of Saturday with Kristin cadgin' from Jordan Lee, stayed up till early hours of Monday to catch up and sadly zonked out. My son came to wake me and tells me Bobby found someone floating in the pool. I can't stay on top of these peculiiar hours...recuperating from a hysterectomy... have to sleep when I'm sleepy! Also, other people in the house are not interested in Dallas and I cant expect to have cart blanche on the telly! J.R has nothin' compared to the cold hearted way big bully UKTV Gold have treated their audience!!!
Wed 15 Aug 2007, 12.53PM
I have been watching this thread with GREAT interest. I no longer watch UKTV due to appalling way we customers are/have been treated. I am a huge Casualty/Holby City fan and we have experienced exactly the same scenario:
* Cut off mid series
* Episodes in random order
* NO communication
* Episodes shown without notice at strange times.
Although a huge Dallas fan I knew I couldn't go through the frustration again.
I only log in now to see if there has been any response to my earlier postings.
Even emailing direct has proved fruitless.
Good luck all in your quest.

Stay posted Jules. Not sure what can be achieved here yet but we shouldn't intend letting up and allowing them to get away with it, not in this day and age, viewers deserve more. The problem really is that in the past they (UKTV) have been getting away with things which allows them to use these bully tactics. I'm sure there is a consumers complaint commission somewhere and our rights are being infringed somehow, I'm just a little busy at the moment my better half is expecting any day now and I'v a small business to run from home but as soon as I get a moment I will be checking it out. As I mentioned before the hour of Dallas a day is a welcome break and gives us something to look forward to, it was the only quality break herself and myself got in the day.
Don't worry, we will have our day, I'm sure and thanks for your support. Maybe some of your other Casualty fans will lend a little support too. If it takes six months to achieve something, that would be fine by me.
UKTV Gold, why are you still ignoring your viewers...? We are tired of being bullied as if we are of no value.... or do you simply have no backbone or management structure....?

Ok - guys - ive given up on uk tv gold! and with my work hours theres no way i can sit up at 4am in the morning! ive logged onto the official dallas fansite - they have a complete episode guide and episode recaps on every single episode ever made ! ok so it means reading the breakdown of the script but at least its better than trying to catch it on gold at the moment! so log on to uk tv gold site - and click on SHOWS - click on DALLAS - followed by OFFICIAL DALLAS FANSITE - followed by EPISODE RECAPS AND EPISODE GUIDE on the left hand side of the page - read them and enjoy - the site is really good - just a shame we cant say the same about GOLD! kimberley 08
