What's even more annoying is that they are starting the run again early on Sunday morning with the very first episode! What's the point if they are only going to run half the shows - they will once again leave viewers high and dry when they get to the end of what they can show. I have just given up and ordered series 6 and 7 from Amazon and I am enjoying them immensely. Series 6 is absolutely fantastic!

I've been biding my time thinking common sense would prevail here. I consider myself to be a rational person who understands and takes on board management decisions but COME ON!!!!! Seriously, taking Dallas off is absolute BS, not only was it total comfort TV with a glass of wine on my return from work but it was my only revenge on my husband for all the football and moto GP I'm forced to watch. Exactly how much begging and pleading do UKTV Gold expect before they'll consider doing something about it, we're not expecting miracles but surely with this much support it would be worth considering since it seems to have destroyed so many peoples plans of doing nothing between 5 and 7pm! Please sort it out or at least for goodness sake show a little compassion and empathy for all the upset it's caused GRRRRRR

If UKTVG say that there were insufficient viewing figures to warrant showing more episodes of Dallas, then can they explain to me why they are showing repeats of Dr.Who? I was under the impression that Dr.Who was for children (who should be at school at that time of the day!!!)
Are we to be spoon fed childrens programmes and repeats of repeats of repeats of Casualty and The Bill? Dont get me wrong, I was an avid fan of Casualty and The Bill, but these repeats are far more recent than Dallas and I can still remember these, whilst watching Dallas was absolutely fabulous because it had been 20+ years since I had seen them, NOT 18 MONTHS!!!!
Come on people !!! Those of us who LOVE Dallas, should make our feelings known here (as many of you have I see!!). I was really looking forward to watching more episodes when half-term finished (because in my innocence I thought it had been taken off just for a week to cater for children at home!
). How wrong I was.
Disappointed, forlorne, angry of South Staffs!!!

I am amazed! This must be the most active thread on UKTV! They are a bunch of charlatans and we should, as I suggested months ago, boycott ALL UKTV channels. NO WAY were there insufficient viewing figures. How gullible do you think we are? Yet another notch to their catalogue of ineptitude. How patronizing! I've had enough. Would like to continue with this campaign but they will stoop to any level to squirm out of their responsibility to their viewers. I will continue to check the thread cos there are some good folk who are genuine Dallas fans, but I know we will achieve nothing. To say the viewing figures were poor is the final insult. Get a grip. How difficult is it to air ONE show with a bit of continuety? YOU ARE HOPELESS and me and Chippy should have your jobs!

I fully agree - stopping the reruns shows absolute lack of consideration towards the viewers. Unbelievable. BRING BACK DALLAS
Wed 31 Oct 2007, 10.09AM
I have never missed one episode since it started, and to have it stopped in the middle is frustrating. It is pure nasty giving us a taste for it then to take it away. UKTV must have known it was going to be popular as it must be the best known soap ever to come out of America. There is only so many times you can re-run Eastenders and the Bill before you get sick of it. i have never been fortunate to watch Dallas from start to finish, and i thought i was in for a treat when UKTV Gold started to show it. but they have took it away from me. Please UKTV, do whatever you can but please show the rest of Dallas!
p.s. If you can please put on the film Dallas the Early Years as well, i haven't seen that for years

i cant believe that they've done it again to us 1000's of loyal dallas fans and countless new ones that the plug has ben pulled on what was THE greatest soap EVER! and gave us no explanation. Come on, it was the only thing worth watchin, and to say there was not enough viewers is totally BS. The best series was just starting and to offer no explanation is unforgivable. I miss my daily fix. It was the only time of day my old man got any peace (or so he says), but he watched it too. Im like a junkie who doesnt get their daily fix and i bet that im not the only one. The amount of people who were watching it and are disappointed is staggering. Seems everyone i know watched it. Does anyone else think its a ploy by uktv to get us talkin it?

Hi there all, I am so fed up myself of no one seemingly listening to us, that I have just rung UKTV. It appears they are still "trying" to get the rights to show more, but quite probably won't dig deep enough into their pockets. I've told them exactly what we all think of them. The address to write to if you want to complain (which I will), is 160 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5QA, for the attention of The Viewer Liaison Officer, UKTV Gold. Please, all Dallas Fans out there, ALL WRITE, and bombard them. I told them we're all sick of no-one being bothered to reply on the website, and also IF they manage to acquire the rights to show more, then DO NOT take it off in school hols to show blessed repeats of Doctor Who!!! I have just ordered series 7 off Amazon, but that's as far as it goes at the moment. It appears that Warner may release series 8 before Christmas, so keep looking! Good luck to you all, and PLEASE WRITE!!!

Just a heads-up that the DALLAS Season 8 DVD is being released in the USA on 12 February 2008 and the U.K. DVD release usually follows a couple of months after the U.S. release.
Please send an e-mail to Five TV to air the complete series of DALLAS as they had the rights for several years to air it but never did. Hopefully they can air DALLAS on Five or on Five US. Five TV do respond to e-mails.

Thanks all!

I am not going to bother waiting for it to return to Uktv Gold. Their lack of response to all the pleas is disgusting. I am utterley disappointed and annoyed.
I also note that they are picky which posts they show. I reckon a lot of posts have been deleted, I know some of mine have. I have made arrangements with friends to buy whatever series are available between us. We are going to have regular girly nights in and enjoy Dallas when we want to watch it - not when Uktv Gold dictate.
Good luck all in your fight to watch Dallas!

Oh, by the way! Done lots of research and cheapest dvd's are available at hmv at the moment in this country! Or from the usa (can even purchase all the series and films in one package).
Good luck!

I cannot believe that having been watching the Dallas series over the past few months, that you have stopped showing it. It was the highlight of my evening to sit down every night to relax and watch the episode. It was the talking point next day at work and with friends I met during the day. Please, Please, PLEASE bring it back. Not repeats,, but following on from Cliff in the hospital. Who wants to see Dr Who? We are talking about a top class drama series here. You cannot leave us in suspence

Hiya Fedupdallasfan.
I think Amazon is the cheapest just now. I bought series 6 about 3 weeks ago and it cost me £24.97. Someone on this forum mentioned that they'd reduced it to £17.97 and if you'd bought it within 30 days at the higher price then Amazon would refund the difference. I e-mailed Amazon and within 3 days £7 was back in my bank account.
HMV are selling series 6 at £26.99. At Amazon it's £17.97. Hope this helps anyone.

BRING BACK DALLAS - ALL OF IT!!!
Come on UKTV Gold, you lily-livered money-grabbing cheaters
You sold me Sky+ on the promise that you were airing the COMPLETE series of Dallas, and then stop after Series 4 without any warning whatsoever?? What a shabby, disrespectful way to treat your viewers

Sun 4 Nov 2007, 12.01PM
all these post's has any one got a answer to the question yet ? WHEN IS IT COMING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! .i have noticed that there is one episode on th 5th at 4 in the morning its not where it left off a simple question deserves a simple answer YES ? PLEASE

WHY DO YOU KEEP REPEATING EPISODES WHEN THE CHILDREN GO BACK TO SCHOOL! ME AND MY WIFE ARE AVID FOLLOWERS BUT WE FIND WE HAVE TO WATCH REPEATS BECAUSE YOU DO NOT GO BACK TO WHEN YOU LEFT IT, IT IS SO ANNOYING, IT ENDED WHEN CLIFF BARNES IS REALLY DOWN ON HIS LUCK, BUT NOW YOU HAVE GONE BACK TO THE BEGINNING, DOES THIS MEAN WE HAVE GOT TO KEEP WATCHING UNTIL YOU ARE UP TO DATE AGAIN. ANGRY OF LOWESTOFT!!!.

im afraid that if uktv gold do decide to buy the remaining series (WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE) i think by then the viewing numbers will have decreased following the number of viewers turning their attention to buying the dvds which i for one am going to look into because i started watching dallas this year and got hooked and cannot believe it would end at a time of a very important storyline in the show. it is shocking to learn that uktv gold only purchased tyhe rights to ONLY 4 series of dallas.
My point is im sure just before the end of series 4 that the viewing figures were high enough to remain on our screens but with the time it is taking uktv gold to purchase the remaining series then it will be too late as the majority of viewers will have either purshased or ordered those series on dvd.
In my opinion uktv gold has made a big BOOBOO in this matter and have not acted quickly enough for their loyal viewers who the majority are disgusted at the way we have been treated. Im sure there are uktv gold staff monitor these message boards so a bit of communication from someone there isnt to much to ask or in this case it seems to be.

Hi everyone, I've been tracking these posts like a stalker for weeks now and I'm that enraged i decided to join so i could have my go at uktv gold bashing, (takes deep breath and lights a cig) i was well cheesed off when they took it off air a few months ago, to be replaced by Dr Who (bangs head on laptop in frustration) only to find they went and did it again, i quietly seethed and took it out on the other half who i now let have some control over the tv remote, thinking to myself it's ok calm down i can record it again when the kids go back to school, now the debacle that was Halloween is over i check this site to find its being aired this morning, yipeee i think and set about series linking it for all the next episodes over the coming week, only to find ...(am going red in the face) WOGAN THEN AND NOW ...??? I'm not prone to swearing but the expletives i started shouting at the sky box would make Gordon Ramsey blush.
wo wants to watch Columbo????? And putting Wogan on is just rubbing it in as everyone knows what a fan he is, what on earth are they playing at? a few manners from the big wigs would be nice too, where are the updates? where are the listening to the customers WHO PAY??? (i know i'm ranting but they don't listen do they) and BTW uktv gold WHO DO YOU THINK IS FALLING FOR THE LINE.... Not enough viewing figures??? puuurrrllleeeaaassseee! you mean no one had the organisational skills to purchase the rest of the series... here's a hint tv gold, mosey on over to Amazon where you can purchase the rest of the series, no doubt you will find your loyal customers there who are now about to desert you!!!! (going cancelling subscription now).

I am bittely disappointed Dallas has been removed from the schedules so suddenly and with nothing from UKTV Gold to explain! I searched the schedule for the promised episode last night but nothing! I'm not holding my breath about the next promised episode either!! Why cant UKTV just put a few lines on the site to explain what is going on? What is the point of promoting the program on the web site when it is not even on! Obviously customer care is not something high on UKTV'a agenda

Hi Guys i'm new to this message board
have been trying to find out what happened to Dallas!! and got in contact with uktv gold which after many emails to them finally got a response!!! needless to say they didn't ans.my question but directed me to this message board
i've been on maternity leave and Dallas was the highlight to my days
I'm so delighted that other share my frustration re:the organisations lack of communication in their programming
How can they replace it with weak re-runs of Dr Who, etc how can that even compare? I ask them to put on Dynasty, falcon crest, etc if they found it difficult to continue boosting their ratings by showing Dallas, but alas no response!!
when are they going to get themselves together?
if they try to do their jobs correctly they would read this message board to see what they veiwers really want!!!! BRING DALLAS BACK!!!
