Come on Uk Tv Gold!!!! You can't just end a programme without even explaining why! When is Eastenders back on?

UKTV have done it again! Last year UKTVGold dropped Dallas part-way through, earlier this year UKTV Food dropped the highly popular “Great Food Live” and now UKTVGold have dropped East-Enders. Why do they keep dropping the most popular programs? Ok they are re-launching the channel and EastEnders not fit in with the new “ethos”, so why are they still running the likes of Neighbours and Baywatch? If it does not fit with the new channel, why not transfer EastEnders to UKTV Drama, it surely fits with the ethos of that channel.

Why has whoever decides the schedules at UK TV Gold decided from Wednesday 2nd October 2008 to suddenly and without warning, remove Eastenders from its scheduled listings and mid story-line as well. First the programme was moved to a very early morning slot so that if I wanted to watch it (which I did) I either had to get up extremely early or videotape it and now it has been unceremoniously dumped from the schedules so we can watch endless repeats of Sorry, The Two Ronnies and other shows which, I might add, are repeated again later the same morning on a repeat loop. What a very unprofessional TV company you are to just blithly remove a programme from your schedule without even having the courtesy to let people know that is what you are doing. We had just got to New year 2006 in the programme and a good set of storylines too. I won't be tuning in to watch al those old Sorry and As Time Goes By and endless bloody programmes like Murder She Wrote - way too boring.

The "Get Johnny The Movie on the "Eastenders UK Gold bring it back" facebook group is a much better version then the bbc version put out for tv, the movie has a good soundtrack.

sian here like many of you i cant believe they have pulled eastenders cant you bring it back as like many of us women this is the best part of my day with no kids an no man to interupt me

I too am really disappointed that you have stopped screening Eastenders. If as stated, it does not fit in with the new ethos of UKTV Gold, will it now be shown on UKTV Drama??? Further, does that mean that Casualty and The Bill will be dropped without any warning as well?

Where o where has my beloved eastenders repeats gone? How can they say that this programme does not fit in with the branding of their channel - it's UKTVGold for god's sake - gold - as in the best of the best and we were just coming up to a juicy story line involving the lovely Grant Mitchell. I am devastated that they have stopped showing it, and without any warning too! I WILL NOT be watching any other programme on this channel, the rest are a waste of air time.

I'm gutted Eastenders has been taken off and at such a fantastic plot line PLEEEEEAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please bring back Eastenders on a morning. To replace it with As time goes by is very boring. To take Eastenders off in the middle of the excellent storyline of jonny allan/phil is stupid.

Couldnt believe it when i saw that ukgold have pulled the plug on eastenders.
I didnt get to see these the first time round. Like many others here. Its great to watch while eating breakfast etc. why do we have to put up with a repeat of neighbours from the day before when they could play this instead.
Great story line building up. Wanna see what happens to mr allen etc.

Please bring Eastenders back either at 6.30 or 7.30 in the mornings as this really does help to wake me up!! The story lines were so much better back then and there are also some good story lines about to come up. This morning i was confronted with as time goes by instead!! yawn yawn. If Eastenders does not come back on i will refuse to watch anything else on this channel...with the exception of only fools and horses of course

Just like to say how VERY VERY disappointed i was when i got up this morning at 6.30am and Eastenders had been replaced by As time goes by - what a load of rubbish!! I notice that from next week it will be replaced by The Two Ronnies!! Please bring Eastenders back !!!!

If Eastenders is bought back, can it be bought back from where it left off? It's approaching one of the best storylines in recent years.

Hello - I emailed UkTv about the removal of Eastenders and they replied saying that it was due to the rebranding and Eastenders does not fit in with the new ethos of the channel. They have no plans to return showing it! How dissapointing!

I watched this every morning when I ate my breakfast, and now what is there watch? I want to know what happens to Johnny Allen? Was there justice for Dennis? And do we ever find out who actually did the stabbing? Please bring it back! I need to know!! I'm hoping that it's just stopped for a couple of weeks and will return. I remember this happening in the past. I think that was because it is showed 5 days a week and the current Eastenders was 3 days and is now 4 days, and UKTV Gold doesn't want to catch up?

Most certainly don't put them back to older episodes, at least not until the departure of Mr Harman.
