DrWho Episodes Missed

My family has been ejoying sitting down and catching up on some of the earlier episodes of Dr Who that we have missed along the way, having been watching at 4 pm every day I am most disappointed that some episodes seem to have simply been missed out, especially the climax of Chris Eccleston as the Doctor which I have just tuned in to watch only to find it had jumped straight into the following series with David Tennant. This also happened with the second part of the aliens in London storyline, and the episode which featured Simon Pegg also was missed out. I am very disgruntled by this, is there any explanation for this?
