UKTV renames channels

Thread Starter: analogueboi    Started: Thu 10 Jul 2008    Replies: 10

Hi all this is my 1st posting, just found out the new channel names for uktv gold, uktv gold+1 and uktv drama they are gold, watch and alibi. Anyone have any thoughts? Gold is going to be comedy, watch is modern stuff and alibi is going to be crime drama. I`m disapointed that gold is just going to be comedy and not a mix of comedy and classic drama, what is going to happen to classic drama that is not crime related?

So, anyone else think there may just be a chance that over the last year this place got some new crappy management?

'G.O.L.D' and this new site layout is just plain awful too.

Don't know about you, but I stopped viewing this network a LOOONG timeago whne it became apparent that the pepole running it were frankly jerks.

Gold - or G.O.L.D. as it should be stated must be one of the worst "transformations" of a channel name in H.I.S.T.O.R.Y.

Sorry i almost forgot about Alibi, Watch and Dave. Eh??

Come on UKTV what age do you think your viewers are??

Personally i think your changes are all C.R.*.P.

well once gold turns to comedy then maybe we'll have a regular comedy schedule, that has most classic comedies that I'd like to see repeated, such as 2point 4 children,Dad's army, Are You Being Served and 'Allo 'Allo

I would have thought Holby City would go on the new watch channel for modern stuff, at a guess modern would mean programes from the last 8-10 years? My point was there are programes like all creatures great and small that are classic dramas but do not come under either crime or comedy so where will they go?

Isn't that just like the National Health Service? What do we pay our taxes for?

I'd love to see a continuation of Holby City but there doesn't seem to be a place for it in the new lineup. Frown

the drama channel is closing to become the new alibi channel for crime dramas only, gold is going 2 become comedy and the new watch channel is modern stuff, so what about classic NON CRIME dramas?

Maybe the Drama channel will be used for that. It's about time they started sorting their programmes out.
