I just find it amazing that 4th or 5th repeats of 1 or 2 year old episodes get higher ratings than ones that haven't been seen in ages. They were the same shows in the late 1980s and early 90s as they are now, so surely anyone interested enough to watch them would be interested in seeing the whole series. And anyone not into them would watch neither the old ones or the new ones.
I Hope UKTV do not think that just because people like me post on their website they watch the channel all the time and are on the edges of their seat wishing UKTV would show something different. I never have UKTV Gold on because there isn't one thing on it that I want to see.
Of all of the 10 old year+ shows they show - and there aren't many - they chose The A Team and Murder She Wrote!! - if they are going for a younger viewer, why Murder She Wrote??? It was a programme made 10-20 years ago - it was made for an older audience even when it was new - ITV showed it briefly as I recall then pulled it from their evening schedule - and from then on it was a cheap afternoon filler for the BBC - however popular it was in the States. 1990 Murder She Wrote gets more viewers than 1990s The Bill?? It defies belief - well- basically I DON'T believe it. Although if the BBC have got the rights to Murder She Wrote maybe it is a good deal cheaper to UKTV than The Bill (ITV). But that wouldn't be true of Casualty would it?
Are the new episodes of The Bill and Casualty cheaper than the old ones? Why would that be?
I guess if they can't come up with an answer anyone wants to hear, or a reason for the above there will be no reply (and this message won't last long, as one I posted the other day seems to have been deleted). I presume that means UKTV DID read it
However I remember the channel in the early 90s, and was suggesting the sort of thing that would attract me. I'd like to watch the channel. I know i'm only one viewer of course.
Anyway, talking to yourself is the first sign of madness, I think thats what i'm doing here. So i'm off.
