My favourite toy was a blue 'Grifter' bike, I loved it, I kept it in immaculate condition, it was a "boys" bike and it took a lot of persuasion to get my parents to buy it for me. it was my first real taste of freedom - I was 10 years old. Big Grin

My favourite toy was a `top-and-whip` . I used to colour the top with various coloured chalks and silver paper from sweet-wrappers. There was a kaleidoscope of colour as it was whipped by the string, to make it whizz around very fast.

my favourite toy was "Smokey Joe" a large monkey with a soft body and plaster cast face. when bits started to break of the face my mother tried to throw him out, but i would discover him missing and fetch him out the dustbin. this happened several times until she gave up. I was 6 years old. doreen

my fav toy was called 'baby beans' I knitted him myself, he was green and tubular. One day my mum decided me and my sister had too many toys so we had to decide what to keep and what to give away. My sister, being two years older than me but not any wiser, decided that to save throwing toys out we should chop off thier heads to save space!! She started on baby beans- once I seen him with his head ut off I was so traumatised that it had to get stitched back on. He looked like frankenstein but I loved him.

My favourite toy was a 'Chic-a-boo' which was a small monkey with soft body and plastic head, hands and feet. He had an open mouth and was able to suck his thumb. Chic-a-boo was a much loved toy, I was often ill as a child and he was frequently with me at hospital, he went everywhere with me! I still have him to this day although he is very patched and sewn up as I remember both his arm and leg falling off at various times!

I was an easily pleased child (I must have been) because I used to spend hours dressing pegs!!!! Seriously those wooden pegs with the two tongs, wool for hair, draw on a little face, tie things round its neck! I also used to buy books where you pushed out a doll made of card from the pages, then you could push differnt outfits out that the doll could wear, they clipped round with little tabs - infact it has just occurred to me I could now make my own!!! Hmmmm guess what the kids will be doing this easter weekend!!! Cheeky

I was a total barbie fan, I had her, Ken, Skipper and horses etc... I went to a Barbie fashion show once where 2 'real' barbie twins were modelling, I was a member of the fan club, it was great!! I have two sons now so not a hint of pink to be found anywhere Frown - a space hopper would go down a treat! Hug

I had a ball attached to a rope that was attached to a hoop that went around the leg. You used to swizzle the hoop around one leg and jump over the rpoe and ball with the other leg. Who needed games systems back then, we had so much fun with simple toys! Wink

My favourite toy when I was little was Lego, me and my brother would have hours of fun playing with it! Our favourite game was when we went round our Nans house, as she would always give us a packet of mini cheddars each, and rather than simply just eating them, we would wrap each cheddar in paper and colour the outside to make them look like mini pizza boxes! We then built a pizza restaurant, then the little Lego men had to zoom around on their tiny motorbikes to deliver the pizzas to us once we had phoned in our order on the miniature telephones (which those naughty Lego men stole from my Barbie doll!)

My brother had a lego engine and I remember creating a circuit out of metal clothes hangers and setting it off just to frighten him at night. Cant remember whether I actually achieved this or if it was a delicious fantasy.

My favourite toys was lego. I used to create lego riding schools because I longed to own a pony. I have a very found memory of my space hopper though. Sport was not my strong point and I was usually in the last few finishers at sports day. One year my primary school had a space hopper race. As I was always out on my space hopper this was probably the sporting event in which I had any chance. To my amazement I won. The winner got an ice cream cone. It was my one and only at sports day in primary school. It was not until a good ten years later my sporting prowess finally re-emerged in secondary school - when I won a pillow fight in the novelty events.
