UKTVGold is not Gold anymore

How can you call UKTV "GOLD" you never show any real "GOLD" shows

Why not just rewind Neighbours, EastEnders, The Bill

or even show Classic Coronation Street and Classic Emmerdale.

Also theres

London's Burning, The Governor, Within These Walls, Prisoner Cell Block H, Classic Home and Away, Brookside, Dallas, Crossroads, Sons and Daughters, Dangerous Women, Punnishment, Bewitched,Sunset Beach,The Prisoner,Melrose Place,The Young Doctors,The Flying Doctors

At the end of the day I think you have a cheak to call the channel UKTVGold as there's nothin gold about it.

I can understand about keeping the soaps in order but I'm sure it would not hurt to show classic episodes befor the new ones

Why not show Casualty from S1 - S18 all in order insted of cutting through.

SORT YOUR CHANNEL OUT FOR GOD SAKE.

With Neighbours, there's now a 4 year gap between Neighbours on BBC 1 and UK Gold - and bear in mind, this soap is now 21 years old. Nearly everyone I've spoken too would love to see the old classic Neighbours years, when Kylie and Jason brought in more ratings than Corrie and EastEnders combined.

I just feel that UK"TV" Gold has become an extension to BBC 1. The name 'UKTV Repeats' would be more appropriate. The old UK Gold catchphrase, "TV you want to see again and again and again" no longer applies, as these days, most of the programmes are still freshly taped on videos from BBC 1 screenings. Someone in my house recently said (and this stuck in my mind) "oh drat, we missed My Family, oh well, it should be repeated on UK Gold soon" - not UKTV Gold, UK Gold. What's with all those syllables? It's a real mouthful to say.

Ratings are important (obviously), but so is uniqueness and quality. If every channel aimed for higher ratings, there would be a mass of reality TV shows and basic garbage. Documentaries wouldn't exist. Old shows are kind of like documentaries - they're educational. Now that Granada Plus no longer exists, people are crying out for 'Gold' programmes.

Uk Gold, Get rid of all the US programs, stick to UK programs only, but please, please do NOT turn it into a soap channel, there are enough already on other sides.
Keep it good old comedy, British made, British loved.
It's the only channel where you can get a bit of good light relief from the stress of modern day living.
Keep the comedy - Get rid of some of the other rubbish, ie. The Bill, Casualty, and Friday Night With Johnathon Ross, what a load of rubbish.

I agree that UK Gold doesn't really have the same direction it had when satellite started. There is much repitition of the same programmes shown several times a day on a certain channel. UK Drama is particularly guilty of this. But there are good programmes still out there which are inaccessible to us viewers - like BBC Scotlands Maggie (an old classic) and the Cell Block H and Within these Walls and The Governor. The thought of Sons and Daughters and Young Doctors and other australian soaps shown several times a day makes me shiver!!!

I feel that UKTV Gold doesn't deserve to be called UKTV as it shows certain programmes that aren't British, ie Baywatch, A Team. It would be nice to see more British programmes shown on this channel such Emmerdale Farm, Coronation Street, Crossroads, Bad Girls and many more. I feel that this channel should be called TV Gold.
