Hi Sharron, I am definitely a Doctor Who fan and it would be great to see the old Doctor Who's again. My favorite Dr is definitely William Hartnell, although he was on before I was born! I also like some of the quirly John Pertwee ones as well. Best regards, David

Hi Sharron, I'm a big fan of the old US soaps, especially Knots Landing and Dallas, Gold used to show them but that was years ago, no other channel broadcasts them at all. It would be great to see them back on the air, even if only in the middle of the night for the die hard fans (of which there are plenty!). Do you think there is any chance of seeing Knots landing on again anytime soon?

Hi Sharron, I'm also a big Doctor Who fan, I've given up my weekend lie-ins to watch the classic Doctor Who serials for ages now! I agree with the previous poster that some older Doctor Whos would be great, especially from the Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker or even Patrick Troughton era

Thanks UK Gold for showing The A-Team, it is fantastic. What I would also like is for UK Gold to start showing Bergerac from episode 1 onwards like they used to do. It is very annoying that on the previous 3 occasions that UK Gold have shown a run of Bergerac onwards, they have skipped the first 5 series, which were clearly the best!
I also would like UK Gold to show Dallas again, even if it was a late-night slot.

Hi Sharron
I love Casualty and Holby City. I missed a whole chunk of Holby City (Series 5 I think!!!) whilst working abroad and although I see you are currently showing episodes of both Casualty and Holby City, I think I have missed Series 5. Could you tell me if you have any plans to re-run both series in the near future?
PS: I am also a BIG fan of Dallas, Knots Landing, Dynasty and The Colbys and would love it if you could show them again some time.

Hi,
I have been watching UK Gold since the early 90's and it was always my favourite channel. However recently I have stopped watching it because both UK Gold & UKG2 are full of constant repeats of recent shows from terrestrial TV and the schedulers seem to think that the only people who want to watch it are young teenage boys. I mean how many times can you watch Have I got News for you, 2 pints of larger and Jonathan Ross, can we please have a bit of vareity in the schedules and no repeats of what has just been shown on the BBC the week before?

Please stop marketing to the youth and give some of us people in our 30's something decent to watch, like the classic old series, Tenko, Upstairs Downstairs, Shine on Harvey Moon, The Mitfords etc and don't stick them on at 3 O'Clock in the morning.
How about the shows like Dallas, Dynasty, Prisoner Cell Block H, all brilliant classic 80's fun and what about showing Eastenders & Neighbours from the beginning instead of modern programmes from 2002?

It really does prove that quantity does not mean quality, since you expanded with your curiously named UKTVG2+1Hr etc channels the programmes have deteriorated, perhaps you could turn one of them into a dedicated vintage channel instead of just another chance to watch repeats from the previous hour.
UKTV Drama is a good substitue with quality shows but again why do you have just one channel for it and 4 for UK Gold, two of which are the + 1 hour...and don't even get me started on UKTV Sport - as if we don't have enough of that already, give it a dedicated channel too!

Please can someone respond to this and let me know if there is any point in watching UKG again, or would you prefer the lost advertising revenue? Confused

Hi
Would like to echo Stormcat's sentiments.......
Have also been disappointed with Uk Gold's latest offerings, and have been a loyal UK Gold viewer for a long time. Seems that perhaps I am not the type of viewer the channel is aiming at these days! "Have I got news.....", and "2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps" etc etc just aren't for me, and these shows are a real change to what previously attracted me to the channel: Dallas, This Life, Only Fools and Horses to name a few.

Hope this is not the sign of things to come, but a lot of friends of mine have stopped watching UK Gold altogether nowadays as there is nothing that appeals to them any more, the vintage stuff is all but gone.

Bring back DALLAS and all is forgiven! Cheers.

i too am a little disappointed with UK GOLD S latest offerings. I am a MASSIVE Knots Landing fan and would love to see the whole show again (even if it means taping it in the middle of the night!) There are MANY MANY uk fans who would also be greatful for a rerun especially as then series is to be released early next year on DVD (in USA). Also with the release of a new Dallas movie next year maybe the big wigs at UK Gold would consider rerunning Dallas and Knots Landing alongside each other as they were originally intended cos theres bound to be added interest when it hits the big screen!

Knots Landing and Dallas is a must. Dallas has the big movie coming and now Nicolette is in Deperate Housewives Im sure its a good time to rerun Knots Landing.

What are the chances of that happening? Do these points of view really get considered?

I am a massive Knots Landing fan too so that is the show I would like to see back most of all. Any time of the day suits me. I will set my video if I have to. Please, please, please bring it back Sharron.

I used to enjoy UK gold, but found the number of soaps rather annoying. why can't UK gold sign up for more comedy and drama's, or how about the play for today series that were shown in the 1970's. come on UK gold don't lose the audiences by being lazy and cheapskate. Develish

I'm a Knots Landing fan too and it'd be great if UKTV Gold would show the entire series again... I know just from talking to people at college that there's a huge number of people who would watch if it was showed again... We have all the great comedies we grew up watching already on UKTV, so can we have the drama too? Please bring it back if you can..

To all those who asked for Knots Landing repeats....

At the moment there are no plans to screen "Knots Landing". The show did not perform well when it was last shown in 2001 so we did not renew the licence when it expired.

However I will forward your requests onto our programme planners for their consideration. The show could be more suited to UKTV Drama now that it has extended transmission hours so I will also ask them to consider purchasing the rights.

Hi all - We aren't looking to screen any earlier episodes of our soaps at present because we do not wish to interrupt the continuity of current storylines (which would upset a lot of people!).

However, we will be running our Eastenders at Christmas weekend over the 17th/18th December featuring some memorable moments from the Square's past.

As for Dallas - it's one of the programmes we do receive requests for quite regularly. I think the last time we showed it (c. 2003) the ratings dropped off significantly after starting quite strongly and we were left with lots of episodes that weren't being watched!

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the reply about Dallas! Maybe people stopped watching because the schedules changed- seem to remember I myself stopped watching because the shows started to be aired in the middle of the night. Anyway, there really does seem to be a good amount of demand for a return.

Go on, give it try- for all of us begging for Dallas to come back!!! Cheers and happy Xmas.
