The Bill same episode twice in one day, bad enough once!
What the hell is going on at UK Gold, soaps on the whole morning and being repeated in the afternoon as well. I work nights and always enjoyed coming home to watch drama or comedy on UK Gold but now these cheapo rubbish soaps have spoiled my viewing. Dump this rubbish and put real tv on UK Gold again!

The love of soaps that this TV company has is unpresidented as they look to show Eastenders and the Bill on the History channel. God help us all, we have become a nation of saddo soap mugs.

get rid of soaps it is spoiling the viewing
There seems to me to be no santuary from soaps. ITV and BBC plus channel four, etc repeated on omnbus editions on ITV2 and BBC3 at the weekend and now littering UK Gold. No less than four weekends on the trot eastenders has been shown.Am I alone in my feeling here are we a nation of saddo soap driods.

The Bill is repeated on ITV2 and is shown almost daily on ITV, dont you think that is enough jcamacd. We get to many soaps on this channel now as it is. get rid of this rubbish UK Gold

Four weekends of rubbish to endure! Time to read a good book as UK Gold is overcome with dreadful Eastenders rubbish. Who ever thought of putting this on. This programme is shown four times a week on BBC1 and also repeated on BBC3 The following night, I also think it has a omnibus edition at weeekends. Alas uk gold has become soapville.

If you do decide to watch a whole day of Eastender be careful of the splinters. Perhaps other viewers could suggest even more ideas for shows worser than this one. how about a whole day of prime ministers question time the John major years.

Due to the large amount of soaps being shown on tv, the poor old set could not take it any more and blow a fuse. This is indeed a sad end to a loyal and valued friend. I'm off to Asda's now to buy another one.

UK gold may have better audience figures than BBC or ITV
The amount of people I talk to now who have switched over to watch UK gold rather than BBC or ITV does not surprise me, both channels have become very money grabbing. BBC have now followed ITV and Channel Four by putting on reality tv shows where the audience phone to vote for who or what they like in accordance with the show. These phone calls are based on a fixed rate where the channel takes a large percentage of the phone profits,the shows are also cheap to run. The downside of this is that most of the audience are bored of these reality tv shows and know that they are being made mugs of and are now switching channels in thier droves to channels like UKgold to watch real tv shows that are worth watching,thanks UK gold

Easter ruined by too many soaps
The number of soaps now being shown on UK gold over the Easter ruined the viewing Holby, casulty, The bill. Too much on terrestrial tv as it is and repeated on ITV2and BBC3. Sanctuary please Richard!

test card vs eastenders your vote
. Do you remember that happy smiling little girl sitting next to the blackboard with a clown doll? Why cant we have that rather than the depressing Eastenders where dramatic overacting is the order of the day, plus appaling scripts. This seems to me like a housewifes form of escapism. The test card gets my vote every time, by the way does anybody know who won the noughts and crosses.

your thoughts are my thoughts but uk gold dont seem to listen. Who needs a vidoe recorder when you have uk gold. There could be great scope to develop this channel and increase its audience but its the same old tired management that churns out the same programmes. It is like the film groundhog day.

I would also like to agree with stormcat perhaps some new blood could be brought into the uk gold schedule. As long as it is not boring old soaps they remind me of staying behind at school for dictation. I can rattle off numerous amounts of programmes uk gold might consider-Alas smith and jones, anyone for Pennis,Arthur haynes entertains (oldie),bang bang its Reeves and mortimer,Benny hill,Beryls lot,Bewitched,Billy Liar,Bootsie and Snudge, the Baron knights show,Cannon and Ball,etc a/b only to mention afew programmes,surely some of these are excess able to uk gold

It seems that there has been an invasion of soaps on uk gold and there is no doubt that there is a lot of soap fans out there. But uk gold started out as a comedy and drama channel. why cant the soap fans gat there own channel instead of taking up valuble programming time on uk gold

I used to enjoy UK gold, but found the number of soaps rather annoying. why can't UK gold sign up for more comedy and drama's, or how about the play for today series that were shown in the 1970's. come on UK gold don't lose the audiences by being lazy and cheapskate.
