Falcon Crest was one of the 1980's TOP-RATED US glam soaps, and although it never quite got the blanket media focus of its rival, Dallas, here in the UK, mainly because it was shown disparately at odd transmission times across the network, it nevertheless gained 'cult' status with many fans.

Since Sky One completed its run of episodes in 1994, there has been no sign of FC anywhere.

This is now surely the time for UKTV Gold to take advantage, gain the rights to screen the show in full, and allow us to once again enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Napa Valley...and those amazing, oh-so-camp but so good OTT storylines.

Anyone else back my campaign for FC on G?

I have admittedly had some problems with my taste buds this year, following a nasty virus that just hasn't somehow cleared through completely...but I don't feel that it can explain the utter 'blandness' and underlying mildly anti-septic taste that now seems to be changing the basic flavour of some mainstream, often top-branded foods in UK supermarkets.

Take, for example, breakfast cereals. I have, for years, positively adored the taste of a certain leading company's bran flakes cereal...lately, it has lost much of its 'natural' sweet and maltiness, becoming bitty and bland to the taste. I have a suspicion that our beloved Govt may have 'got to' some of these companies, in their 'nannying way', forcing them to alter the recipes to adhere to the 'food fascism' attitude that 'you must not have too much salt, sugar, etc...' and that maybe this is why I am seeing a change in the way many of my favourite foods taste.

It gets harder and harder to find something in the supermarket that you can truly enjoy, in the way that you used to do.

I would love to know if others have experienced any of this of late, within their shopping baskets? Smile
