One of the best ever comedy series made. No doubt about that.

And I've nothing against UK TV Gold showing it over and over again. Within limits, that is.

But do they have to show such programmes in 3 to 4 hour segments. Almost every time I turn on it's either Only Fools or Last of the Summer Wine.

If they'd show maybe two episodes of each per day and vary it with other programmes that would be fine.

I enjoyed the old Casualty and Holby series. Then they stopped. Then they began again, with the same set of programmes. Then they stopped. Then they returned, but with the exact same old set of programmes.

This time, please, please, please, I hope it shows a continuation, not yet another repeat of a repeat of a repeat.

I can't understand why repeats of "The Life of Grime" and "Seaside Rescue" are seen as the type of programme UK TV Gold should associate with.

They're just like BBC at the same time of day.

I can only assume it's money talking. They proably buy the rights to show a dozen or so episodes of a programme like Dallas, Casualty, Holby, etc., etc.

So they flog it to death, show the same ones again and again and again. Wish they would explain things a bit better, mind.

Every programme on UK TV Gold is, of course, a repeat. But my argument is that shows like "Keeping Up Appearances", one of my favourites, show about 6 episodes, then start the same 6 all over again. Surely there were many more of this series.

Same with Casualty and Holby. I enjoy watching them as I missed the series at the time they first came out. However, just as you get into it, they show something like maybe a dozen episodes, then stop for a few months. You wait eagerly to see the next lot when it restarts later in the year. Sadly, the same episodes are shown.

Why not continue where they left off and show the next batch? Or is it a finance thing?

Worzel Gummidge was great and would still be popular with children today. (well, some anyway). Why not show it again? Sure UK did show Worzel a few years ago.

Then there was Mr Majeka. Not enough kids programmes on UK Gold, maybe around tea time these shows can be on.

I have tried my very best to like "Last of the Summer Wine". The scenery is very beautiful, and I can sit and look at that. The 50's shops and streets is very reminiscing. The actors are very good apart from that wee man who fancies Nora who drives me Batty.

Never did get to like the storylines though. And the episodes seem to go on forever. And this show never seems to stop on UK TV Gold. Time for a change maybe?

UK TV Gold is usually the first channel I check when I get up. I find it addictive and very entertaining.

If I have a complaint it is that there doesn't seem to be any continuity. For e.g. Keeping Up Appearances. Seems to constantly repeat the same dozen or so episodes. I'm sure there were many more made.

Casualty and Holby City seemed to be updated to around 5 years ago. I loved watching them as I missed them at the time due to work commitments. Then they stop for a while and come back on months later. Sadly, it's the same round robin of oldies. Surely as Casualty and Holby are still on today they can show a different group of oldies each time.

Rant over, I still love UK TV Gold. Cool Hug Cool
