I think what has happened is that UKTV have got confused because some sources list Series 19 as Series 20 so they probably think that they have already shown Series 20 and gone on to the next series.

I haven't posted for a while but I have some good news:

Series 11 and 12 has NOT changed Brian Wilde to Micheal Aldridge. If you look on the box it still says Brian Wilde.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that LOTSW is back for another series. The bad news is:

That's a good idea. Maybe Series 9 was produced as two seperate series (one in 1985/6 and one in 1986/7) and then broadcast as one series?

Perhaps TV.com should change their layout to make it less confusing?
Sat 10 May 2008, 7.42PM
Vintage 1977 is a US release since this is how the DVDs are numbered in the US. TV.com does NOT say that LOTSW is on this Sunday because the broadcast date on their is just a general one. It says that all year round. The same with the status: Returning Series is just the general status.

Can anyone clarify the transmission dates for Series 9 and 10? The 30 Years Of Last Of The Summer wine book gives the dates as 4th January - 22nd March 1986 but the Radio Times Guide To Comedy book gives the dates as 4th January - 22nd March 1987. I am inclined to believe the 30 Years Of Last Of The Summer Wine book because that is the official guide to the series but can anyone clarify which one is correct?

That's what I have been saying all this time. The BBC is right because they are the ones who made the programme after all. Even the 30 Years Of Last Of The Summer Wine book got it wrong.

Sorry but I don't work for BBC or Universal (if I did all the series would have been out on DVD ages ago) so I can't provide you with any information. The contractual edits on Series 1 & 2 are because the episodes are ripped from videos not from the original mastertape. You can tell because the video logo is at the end of the episodes 1-3 compiliation

LOTSW is coming to an end on UKTV Drama on June 27th.

I doubt it will be back on 23 may as that is a Friday. The 90 minute special on the box set is the first three episodes edited together into a long episode (the same as on the Series 1 & 2 DVD).

There is no point emailing BBC about the title of the DVD because they are officially classed as Series 9 & 10. See this website:

This website also gives the reason why A Merry Heatwave is never shown and why The Loxley Lozenge is shown as a regular episode.
Also here is my predicted list of what will be the contents of the next two DVDs:
Series 11 & 12:
Disc 1:
The Experiment
The Treasure Of The Deep
Dancing Feet
That Certain Smile
Downhill Racer
The Day Of The Welsh Ferret
Disc 2:
Come Back Jack Harry Teesdale
The Kiss And Mavis Poskit
Oh Shut Up And Eat Your Choc Ice
Who's That Bloke With Nora Batty, Then?
Happy Anniversary, Gough And Jessie
Getting Barry Higher In The World
Three Men And A Mangle (This will either be the last episode on this disc or the first on the next one)
Disc 3:
Three Men And A Mangle (See above)
Christmas Special 1988: Crums
Christmas Special 1989: What's Santa Brought For Nora, Then?
Series 13 & 14:
Disc 1:
Return of the Warrior
Come In Sunray Major
The Charity Balls
Walking Stiff Can Make You Famous
That's Not Captain Zero
Das (Welly) Boot
Disc 2:
The Empire That Foggy Nearly Built
The Last Surviving Maurice Chevalier Impression
Roll On
A Landlady For Smiler
Quick, Quick, Slow
Give Us A Lift
Disc 3:
Was That Nora Batty Singing?
Cashflow Problems
Passing The Earring
Pole Star
Christmas Special 1990: Barry's Christmas
Christmas Special 1991: Situations Vacant
After that I think they will just be in 2 disc sets with one series on each set as there will be no room for two because other wise it will be too long.
