David - don't delete without reading and responding, it's just common courtesy!

Before you delete this one Dave.. I took out anything that might have been interpreted as offensive, this is a perfectly nice message desperate for a response.

I've been reading through these topics, and one after the other they're all saying the same thing, what happened to UKGold? When can we get our channel back? I miss the old UKGold, I miss the good programs that were actually Gold.

Well I'm sick and tired of hearing it and nothing being done! People have been complaining for over a year now, and the fact that nothing's been done tells me that UKGold obviously don't have a good enough reason to please their viewers, so let's give them a good enough reason. If we all hate the layout so much, then why bother tuning in at all?! Why not just hiatus from the channel?!

Admittedly, a few people isn't gonna make a mountain's worth of difference, but I'm sure if we were to take a look at ratings they have already plummeted immensely since the saga began, we just need to tip them off the edge in order to get our channel back.

DavidUKTV - You've deleted this message twice already and did that get rid of me? No. I know exactly where your office is and I'm more than tempted to drive down there and speak to you myself if that's what it takes to get a response, good thing I've got a whole week off, a full tank of petrol and a sat/nav, I'm set! One way or another I will get a response from you Dave, I will find out why you make the decisions you do, I genuinely just want to know, I'm not trying to be offensive, but your defense makes it impossible for me to get you to respond any other way. JUST TALK!

Come on David my friend... all you gotta do is use the mouse and click reply... yu can do it with one hand... really isn't all that difficult.

I so badly want you to just talk to me... why do I feel like I'm asking to win the lottery here?

Hi there - how can I resist?! Rest assured I am reading all these comments about the channel and will certainly pass on all the feedback on to the Gold team.

BTW - I didn't delete any of your threads but apologies if our website went on the fritz and ate them by mistake

The man speaks! There was me thinking you were the Gold team...

Thing is, you said that to me about a year ago... and I foolishly believed you, thinking we might get some of the things we requested. But if you are in fact passing on ALL these comments to the Gold team, and have been ever since they began, then why has there been no changes whatsoever? Leaving us to comment and complain further, through a lack of changes to the schedule.

We do realise that it is your job and not ours to change the schedule, but seeing as we're the ones who actually watch it, and for some of us, you're the only channel with the rights to show old episodes of our favourite shows, .eg Casualty, Holby City, Neighbours and The Bill... and you can understand that when we are watching a channel titled UKTVGold, and what we get is neither UK or Gold it can be more than a little frustrating.

I just find it hard to believe that the Gold team could really care in the slightest about anything we have to say, when in fact some of us may actually have some idea what we're talking about.

Hi again - the channel team does care. Honest. But - as you can image - they have to make their scheduling decisions based on a lot of different criteria.

The two messages that are coming across loud and clear on these messageboards are " we want Gold to be classic British comedy and TV" and "we want the schedule to be more varied". You'll be pleased to know that at this very moment the Gold team is looking very carefully into these very issues. (Not that they weren't taking feedback on board before). I can't really say any more than that at this stage but just wanted you to know.

cheers

Please don't forget that there are MANY people who would like Holby City to resume where it stopped last time [and the time before] as it would be lovely to see eopisodes I have not seen before. I only started watching the current episodes about a year ago so I have missed loads. Please again and again bring back Holby City ... thank you.

I think what David's trying to say here is that he's trying to pass on messages of a general consensus among all viewers, dealing with getting the episodes we want of Holby City and Casualty will require becoming a part of the Gold channel team yourself... which is something I admit I am considering!

Confused

To David R - UKTV.

On 2 April 2008 you proclaimed:

"BTW - I didn't delete any of your threads but apologies if our website went on the fritz and ate them by mistake"

On our thread, "Last of the Summer Wine", my brother, grumpy uncle, and I are being repeatedly deleted, particularly when we complain about being deleted. We would strenuously deny being in any way offensive unless getting into the spirit of Last of the Summer Wine is now considered offensive to the politically correct. Or is it your website going on the fritz again?

BexTech

We used to watch UKTV Gold nearly all the time, back from when it first started in analogue on Astra 1.

I agree the channel is a shadow of its former self, we hardly ever bother watching now.

I'm with you on that one BexTech.

I'm also fed up with The Bill being put on again at 3.00am. Why not 4.00pm like it was a year ago (before I got sky). The classics, I'd love to see again.

What happened to EastEnders too. Thats rarely shown. Come on GOLD, stop showing Only fools and horses 24/7 (seriously, its all I ever see on) and show some proper quality gold tv.

Bring back the programme holding slides too, that you used before and after ads. I cant stand it when you just cut out of a programme and go in to ads.

Also, GOLD is meant to stand for classic tv not Dancing with the Stars. Thats American and not classic. Please sort it out.
