i have a number of conifers in my garden around 6 foot tall, they are becoming dead and are completely dead around the base.i have clipped all the dead from the base and now the leaves start half way up the conifer so theres a large trunk looking more like a tropical plant now,any tips here as the snails and spiders have killed it off!should i let whats left try and regrow or just cut them out?please help

for appearance it is best to remove and start again. the soil may be poor and another conifer variety may be better. Beech is slower but grows to a solid hedge. Decide what you want to achieve; is it a solid hedge, a pleasant wall, an evergreen wall. Beech leaves go brown in winter but mostly stay on.

cat pee is bad for plants. Probably best to remove conifers and try another shrub.
