There is a huge problem here in the UK regarding a lack of knowledge on protection from the sun, whether for children or adults! despite the bad weather, we can still get skin cancer here in the UK and people need to sit up and start paying attention to the warnings out there... especially when it concerns children!

I recommend 2 things, visit: www.cancerresearchuk.org/sunsmart/

Get yourselves some unique child care products designed especially for the job - go to www.yesbaby.co.uk for items like the shade-a-babe and Auto_Shade

There is no substitute for staying in the shade!

Here are Auntie Tricia's tried and tested sun solutions-

* Lavender essential oil - the best first aid for sunburn, it can be used neat in an emergency and is even better added to moisturising lotion (Arran Aromatics lavender m/l makes the perfect base).

* Rehydration salts - anyone with a baby under one year old MUST have these handy just in case, get them from the chemist they are really cheap and could save your baby's life. Pack them with your picnic.

*Cover up- Keep your head and the back of your neck covered and watch out if there is a breeze, you could be burning without realising it. If your skin does 'catch pink' keep it covered for 4 days before you go out in the sun again.

Have a good day!

Do you know what really annoys me is schools will not apply sun cream to our kids a kid can do it themselves but what 3/ 4 yr old could do it covering themselves fully
as a childminder I am not supposed to add it to the children i care for but i get written consent and the parents supplys the cream so i know they are used to wearing it and i do it !!

HI,

I have been buying sun protective clothing for my children for 6 years
now and I have had the best results from:

www.sunsmartpr.com
www.kristyjuv.com
www.shadysun.com
www.alexandme.com

There are so many options now and these 2 have the best customer
service and selection.

I recently found www.kristyjuv.com and she has women's outfits which I
have purchased.
