I have a small triangular shape patio that I need help with. Its all concrete with a man-hole cover in the middle of it and its over run by triffids and a large tree. I'm putting bamboo fencing on one side to hide the ugly old fence and there is new fencing on the other. I'm trying to put as many patio plants out there as possible, but the ground still looks a bit drab. I'm not too sure about decking...as I would like a smooth surface for my son to ride his bike on. Oh and I'm actually afraid of the end of the garden, which is dark because of the triffids and the overhanging tree and the river which runs behind it. Oh woe is me! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Florence, have you thought about painting the stone floor I,m sure it will look better. you can buy special paint for stone I think, although I haven,t tried it myself. But maybe one of our users may have? why dont you get rid of all those triffids, cut your trees right down. and enjoy what must be a view to be jealous of, if you have a river running behind them.I,m envious already, Good luck, Pat

Thanks for the reply. I think cutting the triffids will be an ongoing thing as we've cut them back previously and they just grow back. I'll definitely cut the tree, but unfortunately, our view of the river is hidden by a fence, which kind of suits me, because otherwise I'm sure I'd have more visits from of foxes and mice than I have already. I'll think about painting it. I have made some progress.....I wish I could attach a picture of what it used to look like....it would make you laugh.
