I ahve an old glass globe (it used to be a pick and bix container) and want to paint it and make it into a lamp.

Does anyone know if I can use glass paint??

Cheers

I think your best bet would be to ask in the shop where you buy the paint from. I don't think it would be a problem...

I have painted glass bottles and jars for many years and the glass paint I use is readily available from craftand hobby shops. I have used both oil kand water based methods. If you are feeling adventurous you can also make it look like a leaded piece either by "drawing" in a lead coloured paste, also called liquid lead,or by using the thinner self adhesive lead stripping, like they use on windows. I have bought glass paint from qvc that you can bake in the oven ,this makes your item washable . you can also purchase this sort of glass paint from any good craft shop

I painted a bulb with glass paint (the kind you set in the oven) and it seems to withstand the heat quite well.
