i would like to know what fully hardy shubs i can plant in pots as i have a courtyard garden, and i am not keen on bedding plants , would like all year round plants.

Potentilla. Spirea. Wegelia. Photinia but probably will grow too big too fast.

All will get big and need replacing if you have a limited space.

Small conifers, I have even had a Scottish Pine in a tub! (grows to a 100ft).

Rhododendrons, Azaleas

Hardy native Ferns

Bergenia, Tubby Andrews
