Our wisteria, about 13 years old, which flowered half-heartedly earlier this year has now lost almost all its leaves- looked at its trunk which is buried under a box hedge and found that it is completley dead - dried out and disintergrating + low branches are hollow. What has caused this? Presumably it is a bad idea to replant in the same spot?
