Hi. My name is Jill. I have been told that most bamboo shoots are edible. I have a black bamboo in my garden and the shoots are coming up all over the place! Are they edible, please.

No idea, but if you have black bamboo growing so vigorously you must have perfect conditions for it. It can take forever (years) to get to a reasonable sized clump, and have you seen the price of it in garden centres?. For a small pot about 8inches diameter it can be£20-£30. I'd start propagating it.
