Hi,
I hope someone out there knows what I am talking about! Years ago on an episode of ground force the team did up a garden with the most amazing mosaic as a feature that was made by a friend of the family. It was approx 5-6ft tall and was made up of many parts. Does anyone know the episode and where I can get an image of it? Any info would be appreciated!! If I can remember it was very bold with beautiful multi shades of green/blue and I am wanting to use it as inspiration for my own garden project.

I have always remembered that episode as I felt so inspired by the mosaic.

Unfortunately, I don't have an image for you though nor do I know which episode it was, sorry.

I do remember the mosiac vividly - it was a mass of flowers (lupins and daisys among them) and folage. It was quite distinctive because it was not put together using the traditional tiny square tiles but more larger pieces. For example, the petals were formed by single broken tile pieces - perhaps specially shaped to form the entire petal or leaf rather than being put together with tiny square blocks. I recall some shiny pieces too (perhaps mirrors) to reflect the light and add sparkle.

I found similar work on mosaic art websites - perhaps you may find something inspiring on the web too.

i remember that episode too. the mosaic wall decoration was a thing of beauty. i seem to remember it included foxgloves and lupins, cos there were tall peaks of colour. glass and mirror pieces. cant remember which episode, but it was early in the series, maybe even series 1. try contacting bbc, they're very helpful.

I haven't been able to find it I'm afraid, but I must admit I got sidetracked on another project since so I didn't try very hard. Hope you may fare better than me on this, I have my hands full with a baby now so I won't be able to start it for a while!
