Hi Sven,

I have a great solution to prevent cat fouling. Make some "cat mines". Don't worry - they don't explode!. It is an idea given to me by my French girl friend. Basically you need to collect corks from wine bottles (real cork not the wax corks). Buy cocktail sticks and push 8 sticks into the length of the cork at a 45 degree angle all round the cork pointing upwards. Finally push a cocktail stick into the bottom of the cork to secure the "mine" into the ground. These can be made very cheaply, and having several around a newly seeded or planted bed stops the cats entering the area to make their mess. It does no harm to the cats as they avoid them. I've used this method for the last 2 years and it really does work.

Cheers, Garry
