Cry Have just heard the sad news that Monty has had a stroke, and he's only 52! Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and we send all our best wishes for a very speedy recovery. We're missing him on the garden programmes, and absolutely loved his "Around the world 80 Gardens" which was made even more enjoyable by Monty's enthusiasm and delight in visiting the gardens of his dreams. Get well soon, Monty!!

My front door is down the side of my house, on a shared driveway with my neighbours. I want it to look inviting but the main problem is the wind!! - the driveway runs north - south and we park our car at the north end. We've got hanging baskets with lobelia, nemeta, petunias pansies etc which we obviously water VERY regularly cos they dry out much faster, but have erected an archway towards the south end to draw the eye to the displays at the back of the house. I have a jasmine "clotted cream" which I was thinking of using up the archway - without erecting a wind-blocking structure, can you suggest any plants that just MAY thrive despite the wind?
