What on earth was that woman(i forget her name) doing with a huge bottle of pectin on fridays programme?
My wife has been making jams and jellies fo 45yrs and never once has she had to use bottled pectin. For jellies use crab apples or apple cores as they are strained, for jams its usualy apple or lemon juice and has a 99% success rate. The woman didnt really seem to know what she was talking about. Confused Confused

Cry Frown Mad I see Nigella is back for yet ANOTHER rerun of old programmes, even if it is under a different programme title.
UKTV Food must be the cheapest prog. to make as its all repeats or have certain chefs got shares in it.? I only look once a week now in the vain hope that something new MIGHT come on.

Hi dunpayin
You dont say where you live, but in Plymouth market thereis a butcher who sells whole ox hearts, maybe he could get ox tongue as well.
Even some butchers dont seem to know good food when they see it.

It makes lovely cakes etc. Can anyone give me any information about it please?

Big Grin Thanks Rosti
I thought I was the only person to be glad to see JB go she is the 2nd most annoying food presenter on TV, Either shouting about sustainable stocks or food miles then pushing in to get at the food the chefs have cooked.
Anyway a lot of the food that is used seems to have been flown half way around the world.

Wink Just read an article on gorse bushes on the website. The flowers make fantastic wine, but you must leave for 2 years to mature.Has anybody else tried it?
