butterflied leg of lamb - in Autumn

Thread Starter: jocasta    Started: Thu 23 Oct 2008    Replies: 2

In my freezer, I've got a butterflied leg of lamb, which for some reason, never made the barbecue this summer... Any ideas on what I can do with it in Autumn? Is it best to grill it anyway? What I'd like to do, is stuff it and put it in the oven. Any suggestions? And good luck to those who do, but I won't be barbecuing at this time of year!

Hello
Thankyou for replying. Sounds a good idea. I just caught Jamie Oliver opening his oven door and I could swear he had a butterflied leg of lamb on an oven shelf cooking. The shelf underneath held a tray of veg. Or maybe I was hallucinating!

You could marinade it in you favourite marinade and place on the oven rack with a roasting tin on the shelf under neath to catch any fat/juice etc, that way it will get crisp around and not end up stewing in its own juice, admitedly it takes a bit of cleaning afterward but it does look bbq'd
