What ever happened to Jenny and the team on Good Food live, it was such a good programme with plenty of entertainment! If and when is it going to return?

Oh your a brave one Chipster (bring up a thread on GFL), Many of us loved GFL and have differing opinions of MK, but alas GFL is not to return by all accounts unless the fat cats realise they've made a monumental mistake and bring her back Cry

She is on LBC radio 1-4 weekdays sky channel 0177, but I don't think she'll ever return to UKTV FOOD Frown

loverly as Jenny is and brillaint as Good Food was, the show did get a little tired and boring at times,Jenny i am sure is enjoying new pastures of a different direction for her career, Market Kitchen i watch occasionally,is are some useful informaton on there and they do get top chefs showing their creations off, even ones that have been on GFL with Jenny too, GFL had plenty of negative critism as well aimed at Jenny, the chefs, the content,so whats new?

True, true sesley, all programmes have their supporters and detractors. That's what makes the board so much fun!! I haven't watched MK is yonks, it just is too flat and frankly boring for me.

I watch Market Kitchen occasionally, don't like any of the presenters much, but i like some of the content, with demos from topchefs/cooks.i think they need a good double act like Good Food Live had, a good presenter and a chef/cook on a rotation basis, like GFL had, because a good presenter would ask questions a non professional/home cook would ask and a chef/cook would understand the tech content.

Someone tell me, is Tom Parker-Bowles presenting MK on merit or is it because he is Camilla's son. I am only asking because prior to MK I'd never heard of him! Anyway, bring back Jenny and the gang, we need more humour on TV!

Well I have got to say that I miss GFL more than any other programme. Market kitchen is the most boring, uninspiring programme on T.V at the minute. I keep putting it on in the hope that I will start to enjoy it but no luck as yet. At least GFL and the fabulous Jenni were bundles of fun as well as informative, interesting and just down right great T.V. I know it was not for everyone but what is? The amount of people I know that watched GFL avidly is unbelievable, as for market kitchen I don't know a single person, maybe that says it all. Bring back GFL get rid of the tiresome market kitchen.

I'm with you, GFL was one of the best food programmes ever developed. It was lighthearted, fun, humourous and a complete joy to watch. I also learnt a great deal from it becuase it was so entertaining. Sorry, Market Kitchen is too boring and dry for me, it doesn't hold a candle to GFL. They should just get rid of it.

Yes I agree, GFL was one of the best food programs, shame Jeni spoiled it Smile

I've noticed that the people that didn't care for Jeni have also expressed a dislike of Ina Garten and Diana Henry also. I detect a bit of a prejudice here perhaps???

I do hope they find a way to bring back GFL and breathe some life into this channel. I can't take much more of MArket Ktichen. It's horrid.

What is a conection between Jenni, Ina and Diana to be predjudicial? Confused Confused Confused

I know Jenni might not be everyones cup of tea but there is no doubt that she brought the show alive and her relationship with guests and chefs was fantastic, market kitchen is dull, dull, dull. No-one has any charisma whatsoever, unlike Jenni. Sorry some don't like her but in my eyes she was hilarious, very genuine and honest especially with recipes she didn't like, which was funny in itself. Personally she is as bigger loss as the show itself. As for being prejudice if you can compare all these different people and not like any of them maybe you should turn off the telly. Develish

Only my guess here..... Perhaps weight? Strong female personality? A lot of people have such prejudices.....

Well Oysterman i really really hope that is not the case. Larger people like myself are picked on enough without this sort of rubbish going on. I hope your wrong but to be honest you may have hit the nail on the head, lets give the benefit of the doubt eh! Angry Lets get back to the true subject here get GFL and the gorgeous Jenni back on the telly!

Of course Jenni wasn't *everyone's* cup of tea TeC, no one is. But there is no doubt that she brought sparkle and verve to the show and I agree completely - her relationship with guests and chefs was fantastic.

The presenters are what make Market kitchen so dull, Dull, DULL. None of them have any charisma whatsoever, unlike Jenni. To me she was a complete hoot - hilarious, genuine and true to herself. ?You know what you got with Jeni, not these other four.

I too am at a loss as to explain why someone who likes cooking shows and posts 20 - 30 posts a day doesn't like any of the above mentioned professionals.

I feel the main treason GFL was a success was because it had charisma by the bucketfull, the executives in charge of planning must have their heads so far up their backside I'm surprised they "manage" to break wind! Bring back GFL and consign the rubbish they have replaced it with to the bin, for good! Angry

Well put Chipster. Charisma = fun = interest = viewership.

The tired old stuff they are shoving down out throats now is just so uninteresting. BORING!!

Good heavens, Matthew Fort??? Isn't he retired yet?? BORING!

Just get rid of MK. It's DIRE!!!!!

Does anyone actually know why on earth GFL was actually taken off air and replaced by the worst programme on telly.GFL used to inspire, market kitchen gets you running to the microwave for Gods sake. It makes no sense to me, 1 minute GFL was riding high, next off air with hardly any warning. This might be my imagination but the chefs don't look like the enjoy being on market kitchen like they did GFL, but then why would they it's soooo boring. You are not telling me that viewing figures have not gone down either since they decided to get rid of the fab GFL!!!!!!

"next off air with hardly any warning"

Only about three months warning actually. Just no time at all, the blink of an eye.

Im with Te C, GFL was definitely more fun, and I always thought jenni looked like she was having a great time. I dont understand why they cant show some of the old ones, I liked it when they had a studio that wasnt meant to be jennis dockside flat - does anyone else remember her singing in it.. i think i might be going mad but im sure she did

I'd have to agree with Te C too, GFL was definitely a far better programme than Market Kitchen ever could be. MK is just to dour. Jenni always WAS having a great time, and we loved watching that.

Pay no attention to the barsh person, that's all he does is make snide comments about other peoples' posts. I don't know if I've ever seen a comment about food, just other people.

What the hell is going on here???

Te C you have posted a total of 7 posts now, not very difficult to count ut!! All of them against Market Kitchen, and a majority of them making personal comments attacking Barshdale.

Yet, when Barshdale replied reasonably his posts have been removed.

Te C along with WoolfeCooker seem to have suddenly appeared only to attack Market Kitchen and Barshdale. I agree with Barshdale that these "new" posters are most probably older posters using new names. The pattern is there.

Barshdale is a long time genuine poster who works in the hotel/restaurant industry, so why is this happening?

Moderators, please, can you re-read the posts and the threads and sort this out.

thanks
Rosti

Sorry for any offense anyone, I just felt that Barshdale was being unfair on my posts not very constructive, I however didn't ask for them 2 be removed and wondered actually what had happened to it as I replied it disappeared. I am new to this and just wanted to air my views on GFL as I loved it and obviousley got a response with people agreeing, and not, which is all part of interesting views I think.
As for Barshdale I just wanted to get rid of attacks on posts and a bit more interesting info. Anyway lets hope this goes back to peoples views on programmes and not each other. Sorry again Rosti no offense intended. I am genuinly new at this, only got a computer in October, if you can beleive that.

A little more time reading past posts and a little slower to react to the anti Market Kitchen brigade and be their stool pigeon maybe?

Do you have recipes to share? What programs do you like? What food do you like?
