Souixsie...almost anywhere!!?? They come from small to large, "stick" to non-stick. Have you tried your local kitchenwares emporium?

If you are really stick, you can use a simple fry pan...there is no practical difference.

Are you in London or out in MK country?

I'm in Glasgow GFL and don't have many kitchen emporiums sadly - on in West end but can only go on sat cos working the rest of the time - won't manage this week busy cooking for someones 50th Burday.
My fry pans have plastic handles so would melt in the oven.

My be John Lewis would have them - It would be good if Tesco did cos the're open 24 hours. Blurgh

Siouxsie....those plastic handles may be tougher than you think. Most are rated to 400 degrees [F] simply because the hob can get that hot and they have to endure that heat.

I put my cheap frypans with "plastic" handles in the oven all the time without any issues whatsoever. Be brave, give it a try!

Actually, look at some of the pans that they use on MK that they slide into the little oven to the left...many of them have black handles that look like the plastic ones to me...

Why not get one from Amazon?

[link]

If you want a versatile pan that you could use for various purposes, this looks a really good but:-

[link]

If you have a Lidl near you that is.

The pans on MK are probably Circulon or something similar, and will have handles that are oven safe.

If you have a Lidl near you that is, and depending on how many you are cooking for - the advantage of having the right pan is that they normally offer a large flat surface area.

The pans on MK are probably Circulon or something similar, and so will have handles that are oven safe.

siouxie1

The posts all disappear overnight and come back at 9.00am each day. I think you'll find the links have returned.

Try Debenhams at the St Enoch Centre. They have pans suitable for paella.

I don't want to endorse any particular vendor but I must say Amazon is terrific. I purchased a set of Le Creuset ovenware six months ago because the price was so attarctive versus local shops and it arrived the very next day!

If your paella pan is there, I'd buy it from them. You'll be happy.

Siouxsie, paella is one of my favourite dishes! I have both a non-stick and a stick version of pans and prefer the stick one...the rice just seems to come out so much better.

This weekend down here on Great Food Live episodes they did a paella and Alex Mackay also did a fabulous seafood in broth recipe that I made last night. If you like paella you'd also like this dish it was scrumptuous.

With GFL now back on the air here it is a great pleasure to laugh along with Jeni and her troupe of fab chefs!!!

Siouxsie, is this what you are referring to: [link] ?

If so, I agree...entirely delicious!!

BTW, Market Kitchen returns 10 September. I hope and pray they've fixed up the program and have added some LIFE!

TVF - Not sure what it all means it was automatically tranlated from Spanish - I like the way they talk about teeth of garlic.

TVF that does look like a fab recipe! Odd, I had thought caldereta was a filipino dish and seafood based? I've seen it often in Manila.

I'm enjoying the GFL Repeats now, they're fab. They haven't announced the return of MK here yet. I'm with you hoping that they've fixed it. It wouldn't be that hard Big Grin

Oh, sorry siouxsie...that was a hilarious translation!! I can't believe you need a whole cocotte of milk! Confused

I think I know the dish you are referring to, it's the same stew like concept but with lobster...from the same site: [link]

I've never had this but just reading through the ingredients it certainly looks appealing. Maybe MK could bring back the Hart Bros or other regional chefs and do some exotic stuff like this? Smile
