Robbob, it's hard to believe they are not taking notice. They just must be in shell shock and don't know exactly what to do. It was a bet-your-channel decision afterall.

Coming from a corproate environment, this whole dire episode strikes me as some new (inexperienced) executive making an arbitrary decision simply to put "his mark" on the channel. So, essentially, a case of where ego has overridden common sense. Luckily these types of executives have a very short half-life!

And looking at the viewer numbers on the other thread, the logic that it was time to change simply lacks any merit.

I would like to get a copy of The People's Cookbook. Saw it in bbcgoodfood magazine with a pciture of Paul Rankin. Am more than happy to pay whatever costs are involved - I live in Australia. I have also submitted two of my recipes but apart from the hessian bag, don't know if my recipes were included or what......Please clarify.

It is still on pre order with Amazon as it hasn't been published yet.

Can you order from Amazon where you are?

Robbob...I'm with GFL on this one. I am very confident that they have taken notice of this board...and the thoudands of posted letters and the reviews in the newspaper. But all of this is re-inforced by the viewership numbers which is the real test. Whilst there as a blip last week in the top ten rankings, there was no appreciable rise in the overall viewership for the week. Commissioned or not, the ratings with ultimately do the programme in.

Thank u Rosti for your advice re ordering Peoples Cookbook thru Amazon - I have done so and I believe I will receive it in September. thank u again for your advice - Still miss GFL so much - Market Kitchen is boring and I change channels when it comes on. I watch the food channel on Foxtel in Australia and if they are going to do repreats why not do repeats of GFL. If I see easter cake being made one more time I will scream .........

Free The Wesbite, what are you talking about?! These threads that are upsetting you are simply people expressing their strongly held views.

There are PLENTY of food, recipe, personality, technique posts all over the place...just look! Don't be distracted by two or three threads at the bottom of the website Big Grin

TVfoodie, I'm confused by your post? Or are you replying to a post that was deleted - sometimes things don't seem to "flow" on the board or are out of order somehow?

Or is this a special code like "Irish Market Kitchen", which makes absolutely NO sense to me whatsoever! Confused

I suggested a couple of weeks ago, that it would be a good idea to indicate if a post has been deleted (for whatever reason) in the space left. Removing even one post can take all others out of context and make some seem irrelevent. Could this be done please Moderators? Also give reasons why the post has been deleted. I am at a loss to understand why some, not all, disappear and it gives me the feeling that posts are being censored and manipulated , which surely is not what these message boards are all about.

Posset, that's a great idea as you'll notice my post above doesn't appear to make any sense. It was a reply to another post that no longer exists. I probably understand the issue, though, as each board would have to be read in their entirety to see if any other messages are actually referring to a deleted post.

As my response is not offensive, it is left because they don't look at the context of the message.

GFLForever...this is why my post makes no sense. Let's forget it was even there!! Big Grin

Managing the board is probably time consuming with so much negative commentary about Market Kitchen but really the vast majority of posters, regardless of their views, have been polite and respectful of others even if disagreement is "heated" at times!

As for upcoming MK, it now appears there will be a series of Soul Food episodes and I'll give it another go especially for that. I used to love when Momma Cherry was on GFL

...I just hope they are going to use the "right" presenters that week. I know TPB is a chili head and M Fort needs to be exposed to some more "earthy" food! Develish

I just wish they'd FIX this programme!

Ooo, it's getting late and I can barely focus on the keyboard.. but I just want to add my approval of Clarita Jones! I love her food and I agree with Foodie...if she can't bring a laugh to that dreary MK crowd, no one will be able to.

Do you know who is hosting with Charita Jones? I'm not familiar with her cooking. Was she ever on GFL - or am I still confusing Momma Cherry's restaurant somehow?

I'll give it a peek this week!

Dougy Boy

I watched a trailer yesterday and I thought that I saw Tana and Matthew Fort as the presenters. Charita was on GFL a few times - but you're correct, she's also known as Momma Cherry.
