That`s it !!!!
No more viewing of MK.

Therefore unable to post any further comments.
Hope the programme makers are now happy.

Although, thank goodness I taped many of the GFL episodes that I can now watch and thoroughly enjoy - what a relief !

Ciao. Cool

I just thought I would add my disappointment to the list I have given market kitchen a week and it doesnt seem to be getting any better I agree Tana is wooden with recpies that are perhaps to basic for a foodie program.
The funny (not haha) irish women standing in the cold isnt very inspiring either the master classes are a waste of time and if that posh bird with the long blonde hair (she appeared in the laughable champagne feature!)or the choc for raisens posh bloke appear in the audiance again (has anyone else noticed the people sat round seem to be repeating themselves?) I may have to get violant Ive never felt the need to post before now but I felt i needed to add my voice to all the other comments.

Hi I am new to food chat, but would like to say I agree with everything that has been said about Market Kitchen. GFL was an informative programme, without being boring and always brought a smile to my face even when I felt miserable.Even my kids were into it, and thats a miracle in itself. BRING BACK GFL ! and the sunshine back onto our screens.

Obviously the UK food team do not read our messages properly when their response to them is:

‘We really appreciate your feedback as it allows us to develop the programme. It's good to know what sort of recipes, chefs and features you would like to see in the future.’

When what we are really saying is ‘don’t bother improving MK, just give us back are GFL et al.

Will they even consider taking our suggestions on-board – I doubt it. Their response was nothing more than the usual company statement that appears all to often from companies that do not care about their customers and one that is expected to pacify the complainers.

In my opinion the UK Food team response to our messages is nothing short of an insult to our intelligence.

I think maybe we need to seperate our issues slightly we wont get gfl back however loud we scream what we need to do is to tell them what we want to see on mk so they can tweak it ( or major reconstruction) and make it better.

Gluck....I got the same reply in an email from the UKTV team. Its a stock reply! Mad100 Whole tracks of this discussion have been deleted. I contribute regularly most mysteriously disappear. One I posted on Sunday seemed to have disappeared within a few hours!! Frown Perhaps they are scared that someone from Waitrose will monitor the message board and discover the true strength of feeling! Confused

Eek Well, gave it another chance last night. No, it's not going anywhere is it? I swear that this programme is unwatchable! No one, no one at all can ever sit and watch a complete programme. Please, if you must stick this horible show on, then at least give us repeats of GFL as well. Thank goodnes for GBM on BBC2 but after watching Matthew Fort last night for 5 minutes, I question whether he should be a judge of good food. The basic questions he was asking in relation to food beggars beleif

Hi UKTV Food

Glad to hear that you are taking on board peoples views.

On the whole I think most people who appreciate what you are trying to establish would say you are on the right lines.

Like anything else it will take time to establish a consistant flowing show.

I would however (and i assume you would) ignore comments of a personal basis towards the presenters. Everybody has to start somewhere.

I like the idea of Masterclasses and would maybe suggest spending more time on them... I would even say that it would be worthwhile establishing a slot per week on this.

More behind the scenes at chefs restaurants would be nice.

Maybe a latest food news slot.

Hi...... all I have to say that ditchwater is more interesting than MK.....I have tried...I really have..... to watch it....even watching it today in my lunch hour.......couldn't stand more than 15 minutes......and please.....'Chili cottage pie' ....are you programme makers having a laugh!......My 9 year old stepson could make a more interesting dish than that...It is quite frankly insulting! ....When finished it looked like something that you would buy from the 'value' section of a supermarket chiller section. At least if you are going to keep this programme on then make it informative.....don't try and preach to the converted...most of the audience who would have watched this drivel were used to watching GFL and all will have a very good knowledge of ingredients, so please credit us with a bit more intelligence.

Folks, try and keep it constructive. Resorting to Sarcasm and Snide remarks won't help the Show.

There is nothing wrong with critisism but it has to be constructuve to make a difference.

I have to agree with a lot that has been said about MK. I run a small company catering receptions, cocktail parties etc..

I have picked up many great ideas from GFL - thanks - but will not be watching more of MK unless they can suggest fish pie canapés or other boring dishes to match the personalities of the presenters.

Sometimes Sarcasm is the only thing that gets idiots attention. I've been around long enough to know that. We don't want them to improve or tweak the programme, because it's utter codswallop. We want GFL back. If they can't give us the original team back that's ok, as long as Jeni has her own show with all our favourite chefs back.
They ARE treating us like children with that idiotic post they made, and that's only made matters worse. Waken up UK Food, MK is not working and it never will.

Mk what a boring programme. The programme has no dynamism, the presenters wooden with no personalties, the mock cafe irritating, and there is absolutely no humour. At least Jeni was amusing. The recipes I would not even bother to make. Why make 2 fish pies in the same show? And did I mention it is just plain BORING!!!!!!! I will not be watching any more.

I have tried to watch the second week of this dreadful programme hoping it would improve. Some hope.
I am so exasperated that I have emailed customer service at waitrose informing them of my displeasure of this Gordon Ramsey showcase. I further informed them that I would not be visiting their store

Please bring back Jenni and GFL... I have tried to watch the new Market Kitchen but I am finding it boring. I think it is very wooden and there is no smoothness in the presentation. I am not happy with the show at all. Mad

I can only assume paulgray is related to someone who works on the show (or even works on the show himself). He says "Everyone has to start somewhere?" Well do the apprenticeship then! Don't be given a job you have no qualification for apart from being a famous name like Ramsay or Parker Bowles. And why on earth do we have to put up with presenters finding their feet while we cringe in embarassment? I might have a novel answer to this - bring in someone who can present already? But in the meantime this programme (not forgetting UKTV Food in general) must be losing viewers by the thousand. This is so typical of Media types. They know best, let's get rid of the oldun and bring in some new talent, except they don't know talent when it's standing in front of them already.

But you know what? Sooner than later Waitrose will pull this show as sure eggs is eggs. I'd put my mortgage on it.

Dustyfrg, I agree! Paul should realise the strong frustrations that loyal Gfl viewers have shown in their messages.
His inane comments only incite more frustration.

Well I've watched up to and including last night. Still doesn't do a lot for me which is a shame for the station's only 'live' programme.
I'll give it this week and then off to channels new I will go.

Any truth in the rumours of the AWT defection to ITV causing the BBC embarrassment when most of the crew went as well?!?!?

Am I the only one who had the first quarter of an hour of Market Kitchen repeated 3 times last night??? Confused

I so hate to knock it, mainly because I loved GFL, the format, the "liveness" of it and the humour and skills of all concerned. But Parker-Bowles was insipid last night poking gingerly at his chilli cottage pie and Matthew Fort is never anything other than wooden.

Waitrose sponsoring? After all the anti-press about supermarkets? Next we will have Tesco sponsoring a series and GFL will turn in it's grave!

It is so totally totally stiff and false I feel embarrassed to watch it. I'm sorry. Angry

Oh dear. I can tell this show isn't working for me as I've now turned over for good tonight to watch Selling Houses instead. If I flicked during - er - a certain other UKTV Food show, I was always back again within 5 mins or so, but there's not really anything to prompt me to come back to this - no structure, no stories, no differentiation, no real point.

It's a shame as the prospect of a one hour daily primetime show about food was right up my street.

I will continue to dip back in and out but the PTB really should look at what makes viewers stick with or give up on a one hour show, especially in such a competitive slot as 8pm.

No Allsorts you certainly were not the only one to witness the uktv premier of the first groundhog day's cooking show!!.I gave up watching when the tears of laughter became too much to stand.Did they ever get the mince cooked.

I for one had watched gfl from the first run and have to say it was in need of a bit of a re-draw but if this wooden top outfit lasts more than two months I will be amazed.
