Please tell me it's not true. GFL is the only reason i have sky t.v , what else am i gonna do with my time. I really do think it is a complete shame it's going, it is the best thing on t.v
Ask the big bosses to think again.

I will really miss this program, Jenni is a fantastic bubbly presenter, all the best to her for the future. She will be sorely missed

Angry This is an absolute disappointment. GFL is the link to all UKTV Food Programmes. This show holds the channel together. If it goes I will not watch UKTV in general. I will boycott it. Well done the BBC for a complete failure, you did not engage your viewers again! This is so patronising: you do not have a clue about what we like. We LOVE GFL Big Grin Big Grin

Even though i think Jenny can be annoying, GFD was the only reason i watched the channel. I may/not watch the channel again (no promises). Wow can't believe it is the last show tomo. I think pressure from ITV caused this. We will see Jenny on ITV from now on. Rather than cry all day, why don't you guys start a petition? if you get lots of signatures maybe the BBC will change thier minds? [link] and [link]

Will someone start this?

I only found out today that it would be discontinued, and thought 'WTF!' I was so shocked that I had to log on here to confirm my worst fears. With tommorrow being apparently the last showing of this epic programme, I think that I have a duty to tape it. I can't believe it, and it feels like losing a loved one.

Message to producers: PLEASE change your minds and re-run the show! Frown

Why oh why end GFL. It's the only reason we watch UKTVFood. Almost all the other programmes are repeats and are repeated so often. Jeni is wonderful. So are all the cooks and experts. They get on so well. Shame on you.
We won't be tuning in any more.
Love to Jeni and all involved.
Martin.

I am totally gutted to hear that Jeni and the gang and program are bing axed. I changed my service provider just to see her and the program. I watch every day I am off and everynight before I fall asleep. Obviously those that make these decisions do not see all the good information, knowledge and learning that is being taught. Just when people are stating that we should go back to the basics of teaching people how to cook, those that were at the forfront of this are taken away from us. Jeni you make me laugh when I feel low and have given me so much over the past five years, I know more about wines from you too. Will also follow you to another channel. I can't believe that tomorrow is the last time Jeni will present this show!!! It has all been said before but - how many times can we watch Nigel with his garlic bread?? Please bring Jeni and the team back soon or this will become a dead channel with no audience. Whatever happens Good Luck Jeni and Thank you for all the fun you have given us (along with a lot of Great Food!!) Kay

Angry I agree with all the comments - the best show on every day, no repeats and Jeni is fantastic - a true professional and just a bit mad which is what makes her appeal to everyone. A sad day. Cry

I wonder if the bosses at UKTV do read these message boards. Maybe they can tell us if they do?? Such a bad decision to take Jeni off air and the fab Great Food Live. As all other messagers can't understand why they would take off the only good thing on the channel. I don't need Sky anymore if this isn't on. Do we know what is coming in its place? Do we know what Jeni is going to do? She is so perfect for this show, I wish her well and hope she is brought back very quickly.

To the 'powers that be'... are you all MAD?!!! Why take off such a popular show? My husband and me watch the show every evening at 10pm and after a long and busy day it's just the tonic we need. We love Jeni and her many friend and 10pm will never be the same again! The many recipes we tried from the show have been amazing. Jeni... please don't go!! We want this fantastic show to continue. PLEASE, someone rethink this decision!

What are the two main constant necessities in our lives? Food and water. You turn the tap on for water. You turn the TV on for the food. UKTV Great Food Live has given us all so many ideas. And so much fun. The show is inspirational for letting our children see the pleasure and enjoyment in preparing and cooking a meal for the family and for friends. So it's educational too - it teaches our children to enjoy spending time with the family unit doing a common activity for all to enjoy.
Where else can the "normal" person on a "normal" salary see so many different chefs perform their magic? Where else can we learn to prep and cook to such a high standard at a price that the "normal" person can afford? And where else has a "front of house" person that will pull in the crowds that Jenni attracts?
In business, a winning team wouldn't normally be split up, yet here we have not just a winning team being broken up, but a brilliant programme too. Could someone somewhere please explain the logic? I'm sure something new will emerge in place of UKTVGreat Food Live in time. Lets just hope that "our Jenni" comes as part of the deal!
Good luck Jenni, wherever you go and in whatever you do! Remember - you do have a loyal audience who really does love you!

This must be one of the most illconsidered decisions on TV. There is nothing else like it anywhere. Jeni Barnet is such a natural presenter making everyone around her at ease and with a personality bigger than the egos of some of the chefs she has on the show. The format is tryed on the Sky channels with a very bland and stick like presenter and, surprise surprise, the end result is a very bland show. Jeni will be sorely missed but cant imagine it will be long before we see her on our screens. I'm sure she will be snapped up

Absolutely disgusting!!!! I am a 25 year old fella who has been watching this show since its inception. If it wasn't for the passionate (and sometimes more than a little crazy) presentation skills of the lovely Jeni, myself, and lots more of my friends would still be a slave to the microwave and pot noodle et al. Where else would I be shown how to make beef wellington and learn how to make my own pasta? Where else I would have discovered the delights of the gorgeous Maria Elia? - the perfect foil for Jeni in my opinion. Whoever made this decision has obviously never watched the show, never had to cook in their lives, never had a void in their day at 12:30, never thought to consider public opinion and NEVER, EVER shown such an appalling lack of judgement in their lives. Whatever show that replaces it ( thanks to the benefits of skyplus I haven't seen the adverts) is doomed to fail due to the fact that UKTVfood is alienating such a large amount of people. Why not replace some of the repeats? I have had my fill of Rick Stein repeats ad infinitum - they are on all day again today! Words cannot describe how annoyed this has made me and I hope some notice is taken of the very valid and sincere opinions shown on this forum. The only hope is that the big wigs decision to axe this fabulous show comes back to bite them on their no doubt very large and uninformed behinds and we see Jeni reinstalled on our screens during the summer.
Bring back Jeni!!! Bring back Jeni!!! Angry
P.S I won't be watching AWT on a saturday morning until things get very desperate
