Why is GFL going off air in 3 weeks time or did I hear it wrong?

It's not my favourite channel by any means but GFL was one of my favourite programmes. Personally, I'm sorry GFL is finishing - what a pity we couldn't have both the new show and GFL - it would have cut down on the incessant repeats (Rick, Nigella, Mike Robinson, etc.).

Why are you dispensing with a bright intelligent programme and a vibrant presenter in Jenni ,a highlight in a day of repeats and the one reason to turn your channel on.I suggest you look at your management , not this programme. :

Well thanks for confirming my worst fears - I agree, it is the only good programme on UKFood and I for one won't be watching the channel once GFL goes off air. (What with Sky cancelling the only intelligent kids channel - Discovery Kids - I may well be cancelling my subscription - but I wont go into that - thats another story!).

Well said Andi Peters, you could see how affected Jeni was by his comments, so I don't think she really wants the programme to end either. It's a real shame that GFL is being taken off air. I agree with the previous comments, why can't we have both the new programme and GFL, after all there are so many repeats it would be refreshing to have two live programmes.

Good luck Jeni, I hope this isn't the last we see of you on TV.

To take GFL off air is a sin in itself. It is the best show around as far as food is concerned - Jenni is the best. Can't we pursuade them to keep going. Like
everyone has said we are now going to have to suffer the unending repeats, Rick Stein, Mike Robinson, Nigella, Delia and the rest (all of which I like but there are only so many times you can watch them). you can't beat GFL.

Jeni don't be a stranger on our screens, you have done us proud over the years - we will miss you.

Has anyone from UK Food got the guts to come on the site and give an explanation - I doubt it? I'm still so annoyed about this. What were the "men in suits" thinking? "We have a really popular programme with great content and a brilliant presenter - lets axe it!!" Have to go as I'll be ranting about this all dayt if I don't stop now!

Yesterday's programme with Andi Peters was brilliant - he pitched it just right to give Jeni & the crew the lift they needed at such a hard time. Thank you Andi.

Cry I too am sorry that this great show is being axed. There is no explanation from the "management" to their customers. Do we mean so very little to them? Good luck Jeni.

After watching the late showing of GFL maybe it was Jeni who instigated the end of the programme. Her comment of "be careful what you ask for because you just might get it, it happened to me" could indicate that she had had enough of presenting the programme which is understandable. And without Jeni as far as I'm concerned they might as well axe GFL.

Does anyone know what the new show is that's going to try to replace GFL?

I was gutted when I heard the show was going off, it's the best thing on the channel. Perhaps now they will repeat the last five years shows!

I thought Andi Peters was great yesterday.

Perhaps as a producer he could encourage the format and fantastic Jeni to be aired elsewhere?

I am horrified to discover my nightmare has come true!!! What the heck is going on? Usual old management trick....make a name for yourself by doing something outrageous. The best food programme on TV by far and jenni the brightest and most knowledgeable. Hopeless, utterly hopeless management. Confused

It's absolutely shameful that they are taking GFL off the air. I'm a confirmed fan of the show, and it's one of the few that combines entertainment with education. Jeni is the highlight of the show with a fantastic sense of fun and rather than cut the show, it should be allowed to continue and develop. I'm sure that Jeni finds it hard to host the show 5 days a week, but the involvement of other presenters would lighten her load. Long may, and should, it continue, and my very best wishes and sincerest thanks to Jeni and all the crew for the entertainment. My cooking skills have improved immesurably thanks to your guidance.

What in God's name are you people thinking about, GFL is the BEST food programme on this channel. All the others are repeat after repeat. Jeni
is brilliant. I send most of the receipes I see on this show to me friends in the USA and they all say how they wish they could view the programme.
Please, please re-consider. When this goes off air I may as well cancel Sky
this is the only programme I really watch. Angry

Are the producers at UKTV mad? Why oh why are they cutting the wonderful Jeni? I certainly think that the viewers deserve the courtesy of a full explanation of this folly.

It's the only program where everyone has some fun and a sense of humour , and we all need that!!!!.

I am going into mourning. I am desolate at the thought of not having GFL when I get home from work. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeese UK Food think again about this as you are rather suffering from the repeat syndrome on so many of the other programmes and Great Food Live is fresh, new each day and Jenni is an absolute ray of sunshine in an otherwise desert of cooking programmes. If you are replacing this with something else you are really going to have to exceed anything ever done before
