Do you remember Tingha & Tucker or Topo Gigio

Thread Starter: dawn1    Started: Sat 30 Oct 2004    Replies: 38

Does anyone remember Tangha & tucker the two little bears..on tv Sundays, with a woman that look like June withfield. or Topo Gigio a little mouse puppet that appeared on Sunday night at the London Paladium. My childhood memories, that none of my family remember, not even my husband (he is a little younger than me). These would have been on aroung 35 year ago... Big Grin

Worked with a woman called Jean,me and my friend Maggi did not like her so she quickly became Auntie Jean, with an Aussie accent.
She never realised we were mimicking Tinger and Tucker and how they also took the mickey out of their presenter Auntie Jean.

Oh my gosh, I remember Tingha & Tucker and Willie Wombat. I remember having an Tingha & Tucker annual - I must have been quite young as my memories are pretty vague. Anyone know what year it was televised. I am 43 so reckon it was in the early 70's??? Anyone remember Twizzle whilst we are at it??? AH HAPPY DAYS..........

Oh yeh, whilst we are reminiscing about TV programmes, what were your favourite sweets when you were a kiddie that you cannot get hold of now? I used to love that sweet tobacco in the waxed red paper - remember it, some others I liked were Amazons, Swisskit (I think that was the name it was like a muesli type bar) Frys Fruit Creme (you used to get a different fruit creme in each section - oh yum) and Star Bars. Any other favourites that we want brought back???

Hi Dawn, oh I must have been younger than I thought when it was televised. I wonder if they ever re-ran Twizzle as I remember the little person with the very long legs. Thanks for the tip about that site, I shall have a look now!

At school we used to pretend to be the spotted dog using trainers (or plimsoles as they were called then!) as ears - weird behaviour...
What about The Ringing Singing Tree? or was it The Singing Ringing Tree? The fairytale with the dwarf and the princess? Anyone remember that? Does anyone know whether it's available on video/DVD? I'd love to get it for my daughter - before she's too old to appreciate it.
