Cheers Jen, off in 10 mins - I think I've been edited tho' so you might be the only one to enjoy it. A bitter plate jockey methinks...

Apart from the fact that I think Simon is great - anyone who can show how to prepare a dish from start to finish in approx 5 minutes without messing up has my vote. Even with all the food prepared in stages it's no mean feat and they deserve all the praise for it!! Love the show - keep it up!

I must admit, Simon's by no means my favourite TV chef - everyone knows who that is Wink - but I think that was a bit rough from Caryn. I also have to disagree with JulieB since I really enjoy the on-screen chemistry between Simon and Jeni. I do like Lotte as well ...

I think Simon is great! He's a perfect fall guy for Jenni. Jenni has a very strong personality and to sort of equalize it, Simon plays the perfect straight guy. When they rotate co-hosts and if the sub for Simon is as animated as Jenni, it will not work. It's like a recipe...Temper vinegar with sugar. It works.

Yes I think I know who Kiwichef is and he's one of my favourite celebrity chefs around and admire his knowledge of Asian cooking. The comment made about what I posted re his skin was incorrect . It was more of a concern on my part as Ross Burden didn't look too well at that time.

What's with Ross? His hands shake on close up shots and he looks like he's trying to concentrate but quite can't. I'm not saying he's fat, but last time I saw him on Live, he seemed to have picked up a few pounds.

APOLOGIES TO SIMON RIMMER AND TO ALL HIS FANS-

I tried to post this since Saturday and this morning but for some reason it didn't come up.

I was wrong to make such a biased opinion and regret very much such hurtful criticisms I made to someone whom I've only seen briefly on the show and therefore not in full knowledge of what he's like as a presenter and a chef. I also regret that I have upset a great number of people along the way but most importantly Simon Rimmer. I hope you will accept my sincere apologies and this goes to Lotte Duncan too. I hope to be able to catch you both on the show next time and from what I've read on this thread from your fans I also hope that I'll be able to learn from you both and to enjoy your recipes.

If I was doing a close up on live TV, no matter how many times I had done it before, I still think it would be more than my hands shaking!!!

I thought Ross had lost some weight again recently, not that it should really matter to anyone but him.

Hope the trip goes well Kiwi. Smile

Jen, I just like to say that, yes, I consider AWT as one of the terrific chefs around only because I've seen it first hand. I've tried his food when I was a part time staff "waiting tables" ( which I did at that time while also working during the day as trainee investment broker to enhance my income to buy myself a house) and also was a paying customer at his Notting Hill and London Bridge restaurants (this one I think had been sold).

Well said Caryn. Stuff in print always sounds much harsher that it does in real life conversations.
Now can we all get back to fluffy stuff again!

Oh and hello Bibbs - the messages are a bit slow on here sometimes - you'll have to get your mum to have words with the website people to speed it up!

Caryn...I will say, you can't judge someone or take an instant disliking to them unless you've met them or you really have studied them. I will accept that you may just not get on with that particular person, but I know Simon and I love him, he's great, funny and his food is great...according to my mum. Opinion accepted, you are entitled to it my love Smile

Well said Caryn. You have totally redeemed yourself! Have fun with us on this forum. I'm sure you have lots to contribute.

Hello Bibbs, I think this is called a 'forum' rather than a 'chat room'. It's fun anyway. You have a lovely Mum you lucky girl.

Hi Bibbs. Just wanted to say I think your Mum is terrific on the show. She seems to have a great rapport with all the Chefs. I have to say I think Simon is one of my favourite guests but also Lotte, Lesley, James, Paul H, Ross..............

Caryn,It's nice to see an opology.No-one deserves to be spoken to like that.afterall, they are on television to entertain and help us. They are very busy people and enjoy what they do. To appear on television or appearing in public can be very nerve racking,I agree with Rustie, everybody may shake at some stage.Pinwald,I expect poor Ross was wondering what was going to be said about him next. Nothing but nice things I hope!.

Look away for two days, and all hell breaks loose!
I think the lesson here is that everyone has an opinion, and is entitled to it, but should express it in a pleasant manner.
Caryn, you went OTT, but I'm sure everyone respects you for the apology. Just join in and be friends.
Lotte and Ross - I really appreciate you sharing your views with us 'on the street', so keep it up. And Lotte, next time you're in the West Country, do drop in for tea. I'll prepare a bowl of melted chocolate especially for the occasion!
