Both my girls love macaroni cheese. i'd like to freeze batches of cheese sauce so I've always got it. Does it freeze well and can you defrost in the microwave?

I made up Jamie Olivers macaroni cheese with tomatoes and his quantities made far too much. I froze it in portions and actually I preferred it once defrosted, the sauce seemed to thicken. It doesn't taste that much like macaroni cheese but it's great for making it that little bit healthier and it is delish

Alternatively you could make up several batches of the whole dish, then freeze. Simply defrost, sprinkle with extra cheese and reheat when required.

yes you can freeze cheese sauce. instead of using all flour substitute 1/2 of the flour for cornflour and this will stop the sauce from spliting we de frosted.
