Collecting cookery books/videos/dvd's

Thread Starter: brucey-b    Started: Tue 15 Feb 2005    Replies: 5

Hi, I collect cookery books/videos/dvd's. I use ebay, bbc shop, amazon etc, as well as 2nd hand shops. Is anyone out there doing the same? I am especially interested in getting Rick Stein's "Fruits of the Sea" on video/dvd but it doesn't seem to be available. (Probably not released or still playing on pay TV???) As well, I am looking for any Elizabeth David stuff, or if anyone has any other recommendations? Also, if you have any tips or hints about collecting, I would love to hear them.... Thanks for reading. Smile

Hi brucey-b,

Books for cooks do have a website but they don't list their books as they change too quickly. www.booksforcooks.com.

My advice would be to visit bol.com regularly as they often have introductory offers on books at sixty percent off the rrp.

Also I find Tesco.com have an amazing collection of books and also offer discounts.

I have around 800 (last count was ages ago though, so possibly more) cookery books, I just love them for inspiration.

Don't think you would want my copy!! Lives in the kitchen and is a 'bit' well-thumbed!! If I find another copy I will let you know! Hug

Thanks, I havent been to Books for Cooks - I will check to see if they have a web site. If prawnfiller wants to sell the E.D. book, I would be interested. Big Grin

I have an old copy of Elizabeth David's "Omlette and a Glass of Wine' - not so much a cookbook, more a reminiscence! Very enjoyable on a summer day in the garden with a glass of chilled white wine! Develish
