I've been given a dozen eggs by a friend who keeps chickens. Do you know if it is safe to eat these eggs uncooked eg in a mousse or should I use the supermarket eggs which have come from chickens that been salmonella inoculated. I don't really want to ask my friend in case she's offended and don't way to poison anyone either. No kids, pregnant ladies or immunocompromised guests so I'm not too worried, just better safe than sorry. Smile

I personally would not eat them uncooked, but then I very very rarely eat uncooked eggs which I know have been inoculated either. Once of twice in homemade mayonnaise and even then I keep my fingers crossed.

It is possible that the home grown ones have less risk of salmonella anyway, as sometimes mass produced things have a greater risk of contamination.

Did you eat them raw ? Were you OK ?
