Can anyone help in giving me some advice of production or selling my Indian Cooking Sauce recipe as I make this curry many times a week over the past years and have had very small negative feedback, and this is usually not sweet enough or colour not the same as restaurants ( I use no food colourings at all ). Basically I have perfected a near British Indian Takeaway Curry Sauce, I have only perefected the only type so far and goes down a treat with everyone, I would love to see this on the supermarket shelf and really make my hard work of perfection pay off, or otherwise I would like to sell at farmers markets but I am unsure what rules there are on hygene for this type of small production as I only cook from home.

If you contact your Local Authority - Environmental Health - they will tell you what the requirements are. It may be that you need to have your kitchen inspected at home - I know people who work from home and they have had it done - it's no big deal.

You may also need to get a Food Hygiene Certificate - but that's not expensive, and is usually covered in a one-day workshop.

Good luck with your venture.
