Can't stand cheese? Does salami make you squirm?

Personally I'd include anything breaded that has been made into the shape of a non food object. Wink

Oh and flipping Ice cubes (how can anyone charge for frozen water?)

Oh and MK could turn itself inside out and fold like space into room 101 Wink

Has it really been that long??

I don't know if you can knock value ranges, quite often they win in the taste tests?? Also I have heard that they are simply packaged differently and are made at the same factory etc

Heres a big one "anything that isn't FREE RANGE" Mad

My point exactly ticked.
If "value" are as good and in some cases better then why have to pay more.

Slight change of angle then.
Value, Standard and Best versions of the same product for 101. Lets just have the one high standard product at a reasonable price.

I'm with Olive!! Veggie "burgers" Confused Angry Tofu mince??

If you are a vegetarian, why would you even want to think of these porly thought out "substitutes" So may wonderul, real, traditional vege dishes it is totally silly.

But I must disagree about tripe....sorry.

in that case is it really the Value goods that should go into 101?? surely the premium items should they are not charging resonable prices??

I used to argue "why pay more for organic when clearly the farmer/producer is saving a packet on not buying pestersides etc, then I was informed that the organic farmer/producer could not grow as much or lost some crops because they couldn't use pestersides so they had to charge a higher rate to the consumer to make up for this???

Marrowfat peas (in any shape or form ie tinned, mushied or frittered)
Macaroni Cheese
Jellied Eels

Interesting discussion about the value/standard/premium ranges.

When they started I think we were told that it was only the packaging that made the difference in price. I don't think that is always true, and I also think that these things vary vastly by product and outlet.

Even more interesting tickedoff is your post about organic products. I used to have a very big garden which I knew hadn't had any pestesides used on it for over 25 years, so I kept it organic to grow my own veg, and I DID save a fortune on not buying herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

However I did have to spend a lot of time (and sometimes money) making and developing my own. and yes, if you get an invasion of pests you weren't ready for you can loose a lot of your crop, and quite often the natural fertilizers just don't produce as big a crop as the chemicals do.

Brussels, because they're just plain disgusting; and
fennel, never quite understood fennel!
Tofu, never tasted tofu cooked in any way that is even slightly palatable

These are obviously my own personal dislikes and issued with an "each to their own" viewpoint.
P.S. Love the parsley sauce that's with pie 'n' mash

Roasted duck breasts served with a grapefruit and honey sauce is sublime - think it was a recipe in one of the books of "The Two Fat Ladies".

From memory - when you mix the grapefruit and honey parts of the recipe there is lots of spitting. I believe they do warn you in the book but definitely watch out for it. I found using a bigger saucepan than I usually would for those quantities definitely helped to allay the fear of hot honey mixture bubbling over the top of my cooker Wink

I would banish butter. I hate the disgusting stuff. It is being used in more & more ready made products as margarine loses favour. Basically I cook everything myself, so that I know what is in it. Eating out is not easy. We have a problem which runs in the family and manifests itself at the age of 7, when we develop an allergy. Butter tastes rancid and makes us vomit. Is there anyone else out there like this?
