What have you been cooking chefsmurf, or attempting to, by the sound of your post?

we were doing ed bains chocolate brownies, the first one on the list,

the kids tried it the first time and even after 1hour it was still like a bowl of sloshy chocolate. i discovered they had use baking soda rather than baking powder, so thinking this was the reason went out and got another load of ingredients & some baking powder, the same again???? im sure the mix is far to heavy on the butter and maybe even could drop an egg (im no expert though). good experience really,as it shows that you should never trust the judgment of recipe.

thanks for the link Smile it was interesting reading about those that were apparently successful, and i really feel for the person who must have felt defeated by this WRONG recipe. there is no way on earth that this mixture will combine into anything edible, unless you like greasy, buttery chocolate slodge that is. it should be removed or corrected.
mint custard Smile blended fresh mint or green food colouring and mint flavouring added to standard custard Smile

Hi,

We're very sorry to hear there was a problem with Ed Baines' brownie recipe. We have taken it down from the site. However we do have some other fantastic recipe for fudgy chocolate brownies... try some of these, and do let us know what you think
