Hi Barbara212 -

(a) Half and Half is half whole milk and half single cream.

(b) Yes.

(c) They are not exactly the same, but can be substituted one for the other.

Hi,
I am completely hooked on the BC, I just love to watch her cook all that gorgeous food in that beautiful house. The only thing that annoys me about her is that irritating little nervous laugh she has when she meets her guests!
However, I just adore this series and as for TR, well, he can do my shopping any day! Wink

Hi,
TR was the rather tall, dishy guy that was on last night's BC. Ina had sent him to do some shopping for the food. He was tall, slimish and greying at the temples, ooohhh! Wink

I'm always amazed at how Ina seems to have more male friends to dinner than anything else. She just sits there and giggles her way through each meal!
I must check out her recipe for Macaroni Cheese that she was doing last night, I just caught the end of it and it looked delicious. I have made it lots of times and I know it's easy to do, but just wondered whether or not she had put anything interesting into it other than the usual.
I am going to look for some muffin cases and try some of her muffins!
Everything she bakes is low calorie of course!!!

The reason that IG has more male friends than anything else is because 'The Hamptons' is one of the biggest gay communities in the New York State area. I must say the nervous laughing really gets on my nerves as well, and if she asks 'how bad can that be' one more time.......... i'll tell her. I'll hop on the next flight to New York, and then get a train from Grand Central to Easthampton, track her down and plung my 10 inch Victorinox Carving Knife through her Carotid Artery. Oh yes - the reason all the guys are so dishy on BC? It's because they are all gay.

Is having gay friends a problem? I hope not! I have many gay friends and yes the male ones are on the whole very dishy indeed.

She comes across as a very warm and caring person who also really enjoys entertaining, the sexual preferences of her friends and guests isn't really relevent IMHO.

HomelovingGirl, I have searched out her Rum Baba recipe, (or Baba au Rhum as she calls it) I haven't seem a Baba like that for years, looked delicious.

I also caught the end of a lobster dish she was doing the other day, but haven't found that yet.

Absolutely not. i am gay myself Develish and no.... their preferences aren't relevant either. I was just throwing some light on the comments posted immediately above mine as to why there are always more male friends (as per Homelovingirl31's post) and why they are always so dishy!!

BC is one cool lady she knows how to indulge which is the way food should be enjoyed. If you're going to make a pig of yourself do it in style I say! Most importantly BC knows how to entertain. IMO they're just showing some of her tamer soirees for the TV audience who likes to think of themselves as stylish and sophisticated - when the cameras are turned off you can be sure BC shows her guests her wild side. That mischeivous, dirty giggle has been mistaken for a nervous one. Its evident from her cooking that she knows how to enjoy herself Wink

The recipe for Baba Au Rhum is here..

I am a real BC fan but there are not many of the recipes I would make since they are shall we say not too healthy. Gorgeous programmes to watch though, and the recipe books are a great read.
The BC website is excellent if anyone is interested in the recipes, they are mostly all there.

I love BC, her recipies are things that you could eat every day and you don't need to be a top chef to create. Have to agree that TR is gorg, just a shame for us girls why are all the good ones gay or married?

Any how can anyone tell me if any of BC's recipies have every started without or do not contian a stick of butter?
