I made James Martin's stollen recipe, and it is absolutely gorgeous! I had to taste it, of course. Instead of currants and raisins I used golden sultanas and dried cranberries. The cake is simply enormous. The recipe said to wrap in foil and store for three weeks - in my house? I have friends dropping in all the time, and I am lucky if cakes last three days!
I cut the stollen in half; one piece will go in the pantry, and the other will go into the freezer.
It's a super cake, do try it.

Thank you Victoria,,,, I will try it,,,,, I also thought it looked delicious and was surprised to see that it didnt have yeast in it,,,, that has what has put me off making it before as I thought it was a kneaded dough,,,,,, it is always good to know what people are making from the tv programmes and if they are successful,,,,,

Don't wait for the repeat, Arthur. Get the recipe from this site, that is what I did. We don't get James Martin's Christmas here in South Africa, at least, not yet! Confused
Big Grin The temperature is 26C, and it's raining, my garden says thank you to that! At least I got the washing dry this morning! Hug
