Really!?! That's fascinating, I wish I had seen that. Exactly how did it come to pass that she was in possession of such a bird? Are they available to the general public somewhere?

Yuk I could never eat a seagull. We live on the coast here and have loads of these elegant creatures flying along the sea line. How can people be so cruel, no wonder there are lots of veggies around, leave the poor birds alone!!!!!!!! They are to watch and admire not eat!!!!!!!! Angry

A hungry Polish person was prosecuted in Inverness last year for catching and cooking a seagull. I guess they taste more like fish than chicken.

Eek Eek Thank you sesley! I *thought* it was illegal to take seagulls. What a weird programme valmacgill must have seen Confused

And not very appetising, either. I'm very surprised, now, that they haven't had seagull on Market Kitchen! They must've slipped up somewhere Big Grin

Did anyone else ever see this episode with Tamsin? Was it true?

I did see an episode of Gordon's The F word where he went up to cook a protected bird (like a puffin but sorry my memory fails me) and he was disgusted by the taste. An unholy mix of fish and fowl as I recall (much like Market Kitchen) It was brined then boiled as per the show Eek

I remember that episode! Gordon couldn't hunt the bird for some reason, only locals as I recall. I don't think I've ever seen Gordon so squeamish really. His maitre d' spit it out it was so "fowl"!

Big Grin Big Grin
