What on earth happened to the late night re-run of Market Kitchen on Monday evening? I watched it up to the first break, then after the break it started again!! I watched it up to the first break YET AGAIN and lo and behold, after the break IT STARTED YET AGAIN!!!!!

Do "operatives" on UKTV sleep during the night shift? To repeat the first element of the programme is bad enough - but for a third time is beyond belief!!! It's not that I found Tom Parker Bowles very engaging with his er .... traditional cottage pie or Matthew Fort very unwooden. Blurgh Angry

I switched it off in the end in despair. Embarrassed

Bring back Jenny. I cannot understand the thinking behind taking off such a good programme as "Great Food Live" and replacing it with such an amaturish, poorly presented programme. The content of the show and the recipes are not for the foodies of this world. The setting is wooden as are the presenters. Does such an empty cafe exist at Borough Market, I think not; it is so obviously a studio. I cannot find anything redeeming about the programme at all. I am truly surprised that Waitrose is backing such a poorly made programme. It's just a BIG SWITCH OFF. Confused Confused Blurgh Angry Cry Frown

What a load of drivel this programme is, I decided to give it a go, even though Jenni and her chefs 'where simply the best' but these people are like a lot of bad actors. As for the topics who actually cares about these, bring back Jenni's newpapers and the recipes are no better not wanted to try one yet. Market kitchen will not last long BRING BACK GREAT FOOD LIVE AND GIVE US ALL A BREAK Angry Angry

I watched BBC Food this evening. Rick Stein was in Ireland for the n'th time. Quite enjoyed it. Perhaps it's because he has feeling and personality, the qualities MF lacks.

I would like to thank UKTV food for my evening's viewing - after 2 mins of excruciating Market Kitchen - I turned over to a movie channel and found Pride and Prejudice. Wonderful!

Best evening's viewing since Easter!

Angry Mad Please please, get rid of this dreadful market kitchen. It is an absolute farce, it is so poor it is like a badly produced nursery school play. J.

Having struggled with the program for 3 interminable nights, I'm afraid I can watch no longer. There is a four letter word to sum it up - SMUG. The presenting is pretentious and poor; it is out of touch with, I would imagine, 99% of the UKTVfood audience, and offers no advance or development of food television. I would rather be barked at by Fanny Craddock than be talked down to by the presenters here. At least you could watch her repeats for entertainment value. Sadly even this is absent from this sorry show. A huge, huge, disappointment!

it is truly pathetic - is it just me or is the program presented for the most part by people famous for being related to somebody else?

Tragic, a real shame - quite why UKfood threw away a program with such a good formula I don't know. The only thing I can think of is that viewing figures were down - so instead of destroying something great, why not put new life into it somehow.

Get the awful contrived "know where your beef comes from; our's comes from the market downstairs" market kitchen off the tv. Er, and not to put to fine a point on it, does that mean they know where their beef comes from? Oh dear.

Are there any flattering critics of this awful programme? I think not. I managed to watch half an hour of the first programme, and haven't watched any since. What a complete load of rubbish and insult to our intelligence. I hope that Jeni is having a well earned holiday, but please Jen, hurry back, we need you. Confused Angry Blurgh Cry

i agree. market kitchen is not as good as GFL. although Jeni could be slightly irritating at times (come on...admit it), she had lots of personality and warmth that just shone thru and made the programme great to watch. which is more than can be said for the market kitchen presenters who need to buy at least one personality between them very quickly.

I agree wholeheartedly. as a local boy brought up near Borough Market I really appreciate what the market is all about. The diversity that has appeared over the years is absolutely superb and though I live 50 miles away now, I still return once a month to get some goodies that I can't find elsewhere. I honestly thought that Market Kitchen would reflect on the Market itself. Instead we have a bunch of amatuers trying to present what could be a good programme. If we can't have GFL back then maybe put Jeni on Market Kitchen as the compere. I watched the programme for a couple of weeks but have switched off now purely because the presenters make me cringe. Shame really as the guest Chefs are good and conjure up some fantastic food. In a nutshell bring back Jeni, buy Tom PB a comb and a packet of Persil and lets hope Gordon Ramsay calls the wife back home.
